CHAPTER 13
“I hope you tipped your drink over him,” I’ve just relayed the whole sorry incident to Steph and Marvin on Monday morning. We’ve just dealt with the morning rush and now the three of us are leaning against the till gossiping.
“I came close,” I grimace at my manager,” I should never have agreed to a date with Darren Walker. He’s always been a player, that will never change.”
“I could have told you that,” Steph shakes her head, “he hasn’t got a good reputation Lou.”
“But what about the other guy,” Marvin tightens his apron, “was he handsome?”
“Er… I suppose so, if you like that sort of scatty professor, intellectual type.”
Marvin sighs dreamily, “I absolutely do.”
“I can’t believe you had two men fighting for your attention. Do you know how lucky you are Louise Henry?”
