CHAPTER 22 “I really should be looking after Joel,” I whisper to Heather. He’s trailing behind the rest of us, walking alone. “Oh I get it,” Heather gives me a suggestive wink, “just leave me with Marvin, I’ll be fine.” “It’s not like that…” I trail off as Heather stomps off in the opposite direction, clinging onto Marvin. I have no idea where Robbie and Summer are, they disappeared in the opposite direction as soon as we entered the art gallery. Joel has stopped in front of a huge portrait of a man that looks to me like a king. “That’s stunning isn’t it,” I say to Joel. “It is,” he agrees, “and it’s old.” I peer at the date on the plaque which reads 1890.
