Alex’s POV
I walked out of our bathroom and threw on some pants and a t-shirt and headed back down to the party. I went down to get a drink and go back to my office. My head was a blur of Sam. I knew I hurt her when I said I wouldn’t love her, that I couldn’t love her, but it was the truth and the faster she gets over it the better it will be for us. I didn’t want to walk away. I wanted to spend the night with her. It was her Luna ceremony. It was like a wedding and we should have been with each other in some capacity, but she wanted space and I would give it to her.
Maybe I was too much. Telling her everything I did. Maybe I need to back off, be a little colder with her. I can put her at a distance and still take care of her and make sure she has everything she needs.
