Tim and I left, and he didn’t say anything on the way there. We had a long drive and were about an hour out when he finally turned to me and spoke.
“So, please explain this to me.”

“Were going to save your ex-girlfriend and we’re going in blind. You don’t even know who she is mated to?'“
“First of all, she isn’t my ex-girlfriend, but yes, that sums it up.”
“And Sam is ok with this? Please tell me you told her.”
“She knows, and she wasn’t happy about it, but she understood. Her, of all people, know what it’s like and doesn’t want anyone to be hurt.”
“I know that, but still, you could have sent someone else to do this and you could have stayed home.”
