Sam’s POV
Alex walked out of his room and left me standing there, confused and scared. He forced me to tell him what I was scared of and I couldn’t lie. It was him. What he could do to me, the power he has over me. Also mates in general scare me. I didn’t have the best one the first go around and I can see the temper in Alex and he tries to hide it. It poured through him today and I don’t know if he even realizes it.
“Sam, calm down. He has had so many chances to hurt us, but didn’t.” Rae linked me.
“I know, but he scares me. I know he shouldn’t, but any mate would scare me. They have so much power over me.”
“You have the same power over them. You're both affected by the mate bond.”
I took her words seriously because she was right. I walked around Alex’s room and took everything in. H
