Battle Of Glare~

1304 Words
Zake was at the front after they got out of the office room. As he didn’t interact with anybody once they were out ; he was minding his own business and getting back to his class. Lisa came from the behind, trying to catch up with Aster who was walking a bit weirdly and the “troublemaker” seemed to walk closer to her than usual. As she caught up with Aster, she lowered her voice while she tried to fill in on Rayven walking unusually closer to her. She didn’t notice that Aster had suddenly wobbled on her feet, as she spoke to her while keeping her eyes glued at Zake's back. A commotion erupted from behind, making both Zake and Lisa turn around abruptly. Zake's expression changed in seconds from stoic to terror as he saw Aster's limp body in Rayven's arms. He rushed back, wanting to see if she was okay or not, but before he could ; Rayven pulled her limp body into his arms and started walking while carrying her. “Hey, Where the hell are you taking her?” Zake strode on his feet, blocking Rayven's way as he glared at him. “To the nurse's office, genius. Get the hell out of my way.” Rayven spit out, venom laced with his voice. For a moment, Zake felt dumb but Rayven didn’t spare a second glance at him as he rushed forward, Aster in his arms. The distance to the nurse's office suddenly felt very long with to him, he looked sporadically at Aster's pale face and his face flashed with guilt, despair. Once again he was feeling vulnerable in his life. Why Won't he? She was suffering again because of him... Inside he felt like running everywhere while he banged his head on a hard concrete wall. How could he let this happen? Even after swearing to protect her with his life, he failed again. This time, he was the one that made her suffer. “I won't let something happen to you, I promise. Not this time.” He whispered as a little droplet of crystal tear dropped on Aster's forehead. *** || Aster's POV || Several voices spoke next to me... I couldn’t understand what they were saying nor could I recognize who were they. My head hurt, my body felt numb when I tried to move and my eyes felt like someone had glued them together. Something cold was pressed against my forehead, it was soothing, but I was feeling cold all over my body. I tried to open my heavy eyelids as my sense of hearing started going back to normal. My eyebrows slightly curved as I heard them talking. Seemed like there was a small conflict. I could hear Zake's voice, he sounded angry. After several tried, I was successful at opening my eyes but the amount of light that suddenly penetrated through them was too much to take in. So, I shut them even faster. “Oh, she has woken up.” A lady's voice echoed though my ears. All of a sudden, the other voices around the room stopped. “How are you feeling now, honey?” She asked. “Mmm... My eyes are somewhat burning I found myself barely whispering in a hoarse voice. “It's normal. Try opening your eyes slowly. Slowly, okay?” She caressed my hairs. I followed her instruction and slowly opened them, after blinking a few times rapidly finally it felt a bit normal. I looked around, where was I? Wait! I was walking on the corridor but what happened then? My eyes moved from face to face, and I saw Zake, Lisa, Rayven standing there. My gaze automatically locked with Rayven's for a few seconds, then moved in search of water. My throat felt dry, but my eyes felt tired, so I closed them breathed ; trying to gain a bit of energy to ask for a glass of water. Someone came and put their hand under my back as they tried to push me up, helping me to sit. Sparks flew inside my body, from my head to toe. My eyes shot open, and I saw the person I had least expected, helping me to sit. He held a glass filled with water in one hand, while he tried to help me sit with the other. His blonde brown mixed hair lingered closer to my nostrils and the smell of wet soil evaded through my sense, calming me. Soon, another person appeared by my. I turned my head slowly to find Zake holding my left hand as he placed his another hand under my back, trying to make me sit straight. Rayven held the glass close to my mouth and I took a few sips. My eyes travelled from Zake to Rayven as I gulped down, to find them glaring at each other. Wait! Did I miss something? As soon as I was done, the nurse appeared and dismissed all of them. After asking me exactly what I felt before blacking out and how I was feeling now, she discharged me saying it was probably a migraine attack and I should prioritize sleeping as well as drinking water. Slowly getting down from the bed, I walked out of the room carefully. My body still felt uneasy, and I had a bit of headache. As soon as I got out of the door, two figures appeared in front of me and both of them held their hands out while glaring at each other. What's up with these two? Frowning, I looked around to find Lisa staring at Zake her face plastered with a complex emotion. She sighed and shook her head, before walking away. Oh, no! This wasn't good! Closing my eyes, I took another deep breath. “Guys, I'm fine. Both of you should go back to classes and Zake, could you please check on Lisa for me?” I spoke giving Zake a tight smile, I couldn’t risk looking at the other pair of eyes with intense gaze. Realization flashed through Zake's eyes as he turned his head in search of Lisa, but she wasn’t there. “Are you sure you’ll be okay? “ Zake asked me, worried. “Yes, go now. “ I gave him a tight-lipped smile. “Okay, call me if you need anything.” With that he gave me a side hug, and ran away ;all the time glaring at Rayven. What the hell was going on between them? A battle of glare?! I heard his footsteps and my eyes followed it to find Rayven turning and walking away. Zake took his leave too. They walked in opposite directions. I couldn’t understand why Rayven was going towards the exit, rather than going back to his class. I felt somehow disappointed that he left, part of me wished he would stay but hey, I was the one who told both of them to go. My shoulders relaxed as I wheezed and slowly walked towards the exit. The moment I took one step out of the main gate of our campus, a sleek black BMW series 3 pulled up in front of me barricading my way out. Through the tinted black windows, I couldn’t see the driver's face, but it irritated me how riskily he pulled up in front of me and I swear if I was in a normal state right now I would've given him a piece of my mind. I decided to ignore him as I tried to walk away. But as I moved, the car moved too. Again, blocking my way. Uff! What the hell?! Huffing, I tapped on the window ; ready to scream at whoever was in the driver's seat... Slowly the window rolled down, revealing his side face and I forgot what I was going to say. Rayven didn’t look at me as he kept his eyes glued to the road and uttered, “Get in.” ps;- leave comments <3
