Rayven's face paled and his perfectly shaped eyebrows frowned as he stared at the body lying at his feet in utter disbelief.
For a moment, he had almost forgotten his rationality and was about to turn around; starting a run for Aster's house.
The blood bond...
But soon, realization hit his head and he relaxed instantly; smirking.
"So, it was all you Aldric. Why am I not surprised?" Rayven sneered with a distateful expression plastered on his face.
Another laugh echoed through the air, as the distorted male voice spoke again,"Has serving in hell for a hundred years, made you forget how to greet your eldder brother and the demon king?"
Raven felt so angry at Aldric's mocking tone, that if looks could've killed Aldric would've been dead by now.
"Huh, demon king? My foot. You were never the demon king, nor the crown prince. You were only an unworthy rotten exiled beast." Rayven spat out, his voice laced with venom.
"Muhahhaa. Delusional brother. Anyways, my work today is done. The girl should be dead by now." Aldric's loathsome voice laughed villainously making every bit of Rayven's body spark with anger.
"Stop with your bluffing. Aster is fine, I would've felt it if something was wrong. We have a blood bond, you piece of brainless crap." Rayven spoke through his gritted teeth as he glared at the little demon's body.
The blank expression on the girl with pink hair's face changed and her face twisted in an inhumanly sinister way.
"You sure are foolish. Have you forgotten that blood bond only remains connected when you are in your human form?" Aldric spoke his voice laced with annoyance.
How much foolish was this so called brother of his?~ Aldric thought.
Rayven froze in his spot and his jaws clenched, fists balled as his body shivered with anger.
But this anger was not on Aldric but on himself, how could he forget that?
His relax posture, turned into tension.
An ominous chill passed through his spine and inside started a turmoil of emotions.
"You know what? Stop playing games like a coward, and go f**k yourself."
With that, Rayven yelled the words that would break the compulsion.
"Assendio Compa"
His voice echoed through the walls of the palace as he yelled in frustration.
It was as if in the middle of a calm night, thunder blazed around the old palace's walls.
After shaking a few times the girl's body became limp and lied there, unconscious.
Rayven didn’t have anymore time to waste, but he let the invisible bindings keep her folded into them ; so she wouldn’t be able to escape.
He ran outside and without giving a second thought, pushed the ground beneath him with his feet.
His enormous black wings fluttered making him float into the air effortlessly.
Just hold on a bit longer, Aster. I'm coming.
Gathering all his chakra, Rayven made a direct portal to Aster's room.
He didn’t use teleportation because he didn’t have anything else that he needed to teleport with him.
A round looking loop opened out of nowhere and as soon as he stepped in, the round gateway behind him vanished and he closed his eyes to release a sharp breath.
Once he opened them again, his eyes had returned to their normal blue form.
Rayven hissed in pain, the blood in his veins felt like they were boiling inside of him.
The blood bond... the blood bond he had with Aster enabled him to sense if she was in any kind of physical danger...
And right then, he could feel it... She was hurt... pretty badly hard.
Rayven ran downstairs, forgetting the burning heat he felt inside his body...
His eyes widened in shock as he took in the scene infront of him.
There was blood on the floor. Three unconscious men were scattered around the house in three different directions.
He could hear their faint beatings, and see the one that lied outside the broken window, in the patio.
Rayven searched around for Aster but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Aster!"
"Aster!"
"Are you here?"
He called out for her, but no reply came in.
Closing his eyes Rayven was ready to summon his demon form, when he heard a faint voice coming from the kitchen.
He immediately ran there, and his body relaxed only after seeing her there.
Rayven ran and kneeled in front of her, grabbing her into his arm.
It felt like he was burning into the hell fire and suddenly the mystical peace of heaven had landed in between his arms.
A minute or two had passed...
Rayven's eyebrows frowned when he finally realized there was no kind of reciprocation from the other side.
She just stiffly lied there in between his arms.
Pulling her away from him, he looked at her face and terror swept past him when he did.
Her face was as pale as a piece of white paper, her dress was torn in places, her always silky auburn hair was now in a mess.
And she looked at a distant, not blinking as if she was in a trench.
There was blood coming out of the crook of her neck, right beside her shoulder; followed by a bite mark.
Cupping her face in between his palm, Rayven tried to pull out his voice from his throat.
Shock... whatever happened here earlier must've left her into shock~Rayven thought.
"Hey, hey... It's fine. I'm here." he didn’t know what to do, so he tried to console her.
But there was no change in Aster's expression.
Rayven's palms sweated in anxiety as he scanned his eyes on Aster for any other fatal injury but there was none.
"Aster!"
"Aster!"
He kept calling her but she didn’t talk, nor gazed at him as if she couldn’t hear him at all.
"For hell's sake, please say something." Rayven's voice shook vigorously as he again captivated Aster into his arm.
Something around his heart clenched around it, tightening it's grip my every passing second.
The emptiness that he bore for almost two hundred years, not so long ago; the void, suddenly all came rushing back haunting him to the core.
Rayven's mind got entangled in massive turmoil as he tried to contemplate and figure out something.
What do I do? What do I do?
Should I take her to the hospital?
Something inside him screamed and an idea stroke inside his head.
The seal... The seal that he had made the first night he visited Aster...
The seal that came with the BLOOD BOND, to connect them one sidedly; so he could feel her pain and agony but she wouldn’t be able to.
If he were to break that seal, she would be able to feel it all the same way he does.
He could even connect to her mind and mind link her, walk inside and talk to her subconsciousness.
Rayven stood up abruptly and grabbed a kitchen knife, he pressed it against Aster's left palm sightly and then did the same with his right palm but put more pressure on his one.
Before his wound could heal he grabbed Aster's hand, and placed their cuts over each other as he closed his eyes.
"I call for the bond that lies in every drop"
Rayven whispered, his voice firm.
Nothing happened, so he again took a deep breath and calmed himself down.
Any spell regarding a blood bond; whether it was creating or breaking a bond, sealing or removing a seal; it needed full calm mind while performing it and right now that was a huge challenge for Rayven.
"I call for the bond that lies in every drop"
This time a spark lingered inside Rayven's palm. Inside the small kitchen, a light surrounded their co-joined palms and radiated around the room.
Rayven kept his eyes closed and concentration still, trying his level best to put aside all the emotional turmoil.
"Exempt thy seal, exempt thy congeal and let it go free"
Rayven's voice was firm and strong as he said those word.
Outside the house, wind swirled around the house and the sky slightly drizzled with red cracks.
It happened so fast that not a single pair of human eyes noticed it.
And inside, the light emitting from their entangled hand shone brightly and then started to dim, healing the small cuts on both of their palms in the process...
