Stubborn Heart~

|| Aster's POV || Crying in Chandler's embrace felt more peaceful than ever. She caressed my hairs, just like my mum; tolerating my sobs and tears that ruined her dress. "I...I ruined your dress," I stuttered in between my sobs. "No, you didn’t." Chandler wiped my eyes as she said. We talked about all the things that had happened so far, in between my sobs. I didn’t know how much she even understood, but it felt better to finally let go off the burden I was carrying inside. "Do you have feelings for him? Umm...Love or like him?" Chandler whispered and I quickly pulled myself out of her embrace. "What? No...He is an arrogant, rude person. The most arrogant person I've ever met and he called me clingy! So, Never!" I spoke as I buried my face in between my palms. I didn’t understand why such a simple thing was affecting me so much... "He is an asshole," Chandler commented, patting on my shoulder. "Yes, he is." I wept clutching on her shirt tightly. "Okay, that's enough. Astru, look at me. Come on." Chandler forced my face to look up at her, then wiped my eyes once again. "You have the cutest guy in the whole school just a few stairs down, who is ready to serve you whenever you want. Who cares about an arrogant asshole? " She stopped and made eye contact with me. Just as I was about to say, you are right she added another sentence to her statement silencing me. "Even if he is incredibly hot, it doesn’t matter! Right? " Chandler again looked at me and I stared at her, confused. "He acts differently everytime, maybe he is confused or something is keeping away from you or he is trying to go away from you because he is afraid he is not good for you." My eyes turned bigger as she finished that sentence. "But none of it matters. He treated you like trash, you deserve much better. Rayven is an asshole, an uncultured swine, who doesn’t know how to behave or care for someone." Chandler's expression turned into pure disgust. What the hell! She didn’t even know him! How dare she say those kind of judgemental things about someone she didn’t even know! My veins burned with anger as Chandler kept badmouthing Rayven and with each second it started becoming intolerable. He did care for me! That's why he insisted on dropping me home in the first place! I gritted my teeth and balled my fists in anger. "I bet he is a playboy.Hell, I think he could be a r****t, we should go to the police station and do a background search on him, right?" Chandler asked me biting her nails. I was speechless! Is she out of her mind or what? Before I could say anything, Chandler started pulling out her phone. "Wha-What are you doing?" I asked, stupefied. "Calling the police! What else?" She replied while dialing a number. Whaaat??? I quickly snatched the phone out of her hand as I glared at her. "What? Why are you glaring at me?" Chandler asked, frowning. "Have you lost it? You don't even know him! He is not like that! How are you judging someone you’ve never personally met?" I barked at her angrily. Chandler looked shocked at first but then her expression softened and she gave me a small smile. "And you know him?" She asked back. Something stabbed through my heart... Did I? Why did I even defend him just now?! He was quite the asshole she described him, as but for some reason I couldn’t tolerate Chandler badmouthing about him... Chandler sat next to me and gave my shelter a light squeeze, pressing my left palm against my chest she smiled. "Heart wants what it wants,Aster. You can't change it, nor can you do logical debates with it." She whispered. A single teardrop left my eyes... "What a stupid heart I have!" I looked away as I realized what it meant. "Well, your's one is not the only one. So,don't worry! " Chandler giggled and I couldn’t help laughing back. "But I should warn you, if you choose to pursue these feelings you’ve developed you’d have to be determined and strong." Chandler squeezed my hand and I have her a tight lipped smile. Question wasn’t if I could be smart or not, but the question was ; "was he even worth it?" *** ~Louis's POV~ I don't miss the chance of eavesdropping the whole conversation between Aster and Chandler as I help Eva plating the soup and side dish she made. My heart clenched when I heard it... It wasn’t the first time but hell, it hurt the same way... I was a failure... I failed once again. Inspite of putting so much effort, the only person she could see was Rayven, not me. Still now, the only one that made her heart flutter was him, not me. In just a few encounters, she started having feelings for him... I lost again... I lost to him and I lost her... Moisture lingered at the corner of my eyes and I quickly looked around to see if someone saw the unwanted tears that had left my eyes. Eva's eyes caught mine and I quickly turned around, walking out of the front door as I spoke a bit loudly, "I'll be back soon." I walked out of her neighbourhood as fast as I could, towards the meadow and once I was inside the forest; I ran. Wind whistled around me as I ran faster than it.I ran aimlessly, until I reached the high hillock top. I could see the peak, glistening with the last ray of sun. I sprinted on my foot and once I was on the top I didn’t stop. Running fearlessly, without any hesitation towards the edge of the hill,I jumped from the four hundred feet tall hillock. I floated in the air for sometimes, my heart hammered against my chest as I started falling directly. When I was a hundred feet away from the ground, my shirt got ripped as a lump started growing out of my back. My body twitched and I curled up, before blasting both pairs of my hands and legs into the air. One pair of ash-white feathery wings appeared on my back, helping me float on the air stably. My long wings fluttered on my back, and I started flying around like a pro. I quickly flew upwards, trying to mask myself from any human eyes. I flew over the clouds for quite sometimes before stepping down into an place filled with rocks. It was another hill top, the difference was ; this hill was a bit lower that the previous one and was made of pure volcanic rocks. I shivered inwardly as the ominous incidence from years ago that took place in here flashed before my eyes... I stepped forward slowly, with each step my feet felt heavy as I tried to reach that particular spot only to find an unexpected person sitting on the ground there. Despite the distance between us, I could recognize him from his blonde hair that was swirling against the wind now. Rayven...
