chapter four: an actual conversation

Roman, arrived at the address that they agreed to meet at to see Imani already seated.

Wow! You are an early comer, he said pulling out a chair

When it is business, I do not see the need to waste any time. She said finally acknowledging his presence. She pulled out papers from her bag, slammed them on the table with a pen on top.

So now if you would not mind , please do go through the papers and get back to me.she said leening back on her chair

You do expect me to do that now?

Yes, but if you can not do it right away , do get back to me when you are done. She stood to leave.

I doubt we have that leisure of time

So , why dont we get it done with right now?

We can have a conversation with you standing, ROMAN REPLIED.

Imani, sat again, this time wiith a more straight jaw. Watching him go through the terms of agreement for the fake marriage that she had put down.

Thirty minutes later, he looked up with a smirk then asked do i even get a say in this at all?

If you wish , she replied, not the least bothered by his presence.

Would you really not mind if i continued to have affairs even after the marriage, he said keeping a strong eye contact as if he had never been more serious in his life. To Imani, it was as if he was staring right into her soul, but she was never to be affected by him otherwise the deal will not stand. So she snapped right out of that daze of a distraction.

Staring right back at him, she began, I must admit that if you are caught in the act it will certainly cause an uproar , and it will affect our companies, but i cant expect you to go for that long celibate when i am pretty sure that you can not go without it for a day.

If you are so concerned about me maybe you should marry me for real. Roman fired back, now looking like the Roman Imani sees in board rooms.

Flipping the papers , he looked right into her soul, like he had gotten used to. This is not an agreeable terms.

So , what would you like to be included in it? Imani asked, putting her most professional features on.

If you had done that earlier we would have been done by now.Roman replied, pinning her to a spot with his eyes.

You, can get back to me when you decide, what you want to include mr Sterling. She stood to leave again.

If we are really going to have this deal work out, then you must sit and we must have an actual informal conversation.

Leening on the table , she chinned up and questioned" oh yeah, and why is that so, if i remember clearly the only reason why we are hear in the first place is because we are running from real marriage, and do you know what happens in real marriage?

What exactly are you talking about, imani. Roman asked curious.

Informal conversation, an actual one in that case. So if really want this to happen do tell me what you want and i will do well to include them.

Imani looked around, realising that the earlier the deal was done the better for her she sat and Roman began.

Regardless of our weaknesses this marriage must look, as real as anything real.We must act as if we are Jack and Rose in love though it is fake . It is not only about our act our companies can not remain seprate we have to merge at least for as long as the marriage exist, and this timeline is too short, lets make it two years.

Noway! Imani exclamed, that cant happen

One year is absolutely enough for all that wants to happen to happen.

Maybe , for you but for me one year is not enough for me to find a wife, so it will be two years and that will be enough for you too to show your mum, that marriage is not for you.

Nice try but i cant agree to this. With this she stormed out of the resturant.

Roman sat there clueless of what to do next, he had promised his granny of a bride so now what he asked himself .

Just then, his phone rang. Max, appeared as the callers name. However, Roman, brightened immediately and just as fast as Imani had left, he too stormed out.

The next scene showed Imani at Amaras, on the dinning table.

Amara:so are you going to tell me what happpened or are going to keep fighting the plate?

Imani: he has a bunch of useless ideas

Amara:such as?

Imani: he said the timeline should be two years , its just as if he wants something else.

Amara: what could he possibly want from you, he already has enough.

Imani: you know rich people ,the more they have the more they want.

Amara: well if he really wants the deal he would come back to his senses.

Imani: so what ? Will i continue to incovenience you in your on house .

Amara: who said , any thing about incovenience.

Imani: come on girl, you are seeing some one these days you need privacy.

Amara: maybe you should let me complain before you do so for me , besides there is the guest room , plus i can always go to his if i want privacy.

I dont you to be mad but i think that you should go home or atleast give your mum a call.

Imani: she does not need me what she want is a husband and until i have one i will not return to that house.

Amara: alright then whats next

Imani : I guess to wait it is .for him to come back to his senses.

The next scene shows Roman and Max driving back to the Sterling estate gisting.

The moment they both arrives , Elonor welcomes them warmly, then dinner and then, they are seen in Romans rooms where Roman just dropped the papers on the shelf, Max sees it and asks then Roman explains everything to him . And Max says " meen , if you love her just make her get to loose her guard first not try to be safe.

Roman: you really think that i am trying to be safe, i am trying to buy myself time to proof to her that what ever her reason for hating marriage is she could learn to get over it.

Max: well, now thats my man, so whats stopping the deal .

Roman: she said two years is too much.

Max : if you cant reduce the time, explain your reasons to her reasonably she might just accept.

Roman: i will pretend that i have not tried before and try again.

So if she agrees, when is the wedding happening, max asked curiously. Lets do one day at a time bro.
