Being a Defender in the Gallant Battle

Shields! Get in front of the Spearmen as always! Swordsmen! Ready yourselves for the over jumpers!

Suzy ordered the Zion Village’s warriors that gather in front of the attackers.

The Elders had Suzy command the warriors of the Village since she is far more capable to do so, and she’s here, there is an appointed Commander for the attack, but he was withdrawn after Suzy arrived at the Village earlier.

Yes, Commander!

They all then formed the formation they always do whenever they’re ordered by Suzy, Shielders at the front, Spearmen behind them, and Swordsmen behind their formation, ready and prepared for jumpers, shifters, and flying warriors that can penetrate through their defenses.

It was the same defenses as when the Theist Soldiers, Defenders of the Continent, confronted the Azeed’s Servants.

After they all formed, the attacker, the Tapti Village noticed it.

They’re not messing around! Warriors! Attack!

The Tapti Commander shouts, ordering the Tapti Warriors.

They then charged at the Zion Village, vice-versa, the Zion Village charged back, with their completed formation.

The two Ancient Villages have begun the battle.

Though it still unknown, this strategy of Suzy Tereus has been around the Zao Thesis Continent for many generations now, at least by the time she became 15 years old, she has come up with this formation to encourage more shield users in the Continent to pop up and rise, because that’s one of the many things that the Zao Thesis Continent is lacking, she encouraged them that shield users aren’t just defenders, that’s why she helped with teaching them how to fight using shields.

That is one of the many reasons why Suzy Tereus was regarded as a hero after the fight against the Zao Tribes.

She also funded the increase of shields production with her own money because she knows too well that if shield users increased that time, it is definitely her fault, it is not as if she doesn’t earn a lot of money, she was already a warrior of the Theist Country when she is 15, she started when she became 12 years old, only needing 1 and a half year of training, and because she has nothing to spend money on, she saved up a lot of money by the time she reached 15 years old, and now she’s 24 years old.

But for some reason, even though this strategy of hers, Shields in front, Spear behind them, Swords ready, and Rangers on standby, yes, there are rangers behind the swordsman, just for reassurance, is not yet destroyed by any other strategies and techniques, and nobody knows how even though all that has been with Suzy Tereus has done this technique of hers with other warriors, they could not understand why.

The Tapti Commander informed his warriors.

And since most of the warriors of the Seven Ancient Villages and the Theist Country knows about this technique, they don’t need any instructions on Suzy, any more than when their enemies fly or jumped over the defenses, that is for the Swordsmen to deal with, the Rangers at the back will be providing long-range support when most of the Shield users have all died.

And because the amounts of Spearmen behind the Shield users are equal to the Shield users, they can also substitute Swordsmen for when the Swordsmen behind them needed help, and some of them even use Dual blades or Daggers, so they can be as versatile as they want.

The only time Suzy’s strategy failed is when the Shield users aren’t in the same number as the Spearmen, which is the first time, though it only part that failed is the Shield users and the Spearmen’s formation, though they lasted longer, no one could admit that that first time, is still a Victory.

The Shield users slowly begin to attack back instead of just standing and blocking attacks for the Spearmen behind them because they are slowly pushing back the Tapti warriors, and even the ones that jump and fly over the defenses have died against the Swordsmen behind.

The Rangers only help the Swordsmen a little since some of the over jumpers are flying and hovering above them, so they have to shoot them down.

Many were already killed as the fight is about to end with the Zion Village slowly taking the victory.

The reason killing and death is no issue in the Zao Thesis Continent is that the population of the Continent is more than the Continent could handle already, it is one of the core reasons that the Zao God chose these methods for the future of the Continent, and birth rate of the Continent is so high too.

Why are you moving back!? Charge forward!

The Tapti Commander asked, questioning why they’re getting pushed back.

Commander! Nobody could!

They’re too tough! Especially the Shields!

That’s right, Tapti Commander, because you used all the Shield users for yourself.

Suzy tells the Tapti Commander after she breached through their defenses.

What!? Kill her!

The Tapti was surprised so he immediately ordered to kill them.

Don’t bother, they’re already knocked out.

Suzy told him.

The Shield users around them were already hit in the head by the heavy arrows from the Rangers of the Zion Village to their helmets.

The Shield users dropped down after Suzy pushed one of them a little, dropping the others down like a domino.

Only you and your soldiers remain, though I don’t think you need to hear this twice, surrender, or you will definitely die, so what’s your decision, Tapti Commander?

Suzy suggested him, asking him afterward.

I don’t want to face the Heroine of the Zao Thesis Continent, not in a million years, at least, not knowing that she can switch weapons, no, she can use two of them at once since she’s outside the Theist Country, so we’re definitely screwed in many ways.

Call off your warriors and leave this place, you’ve lost this yearly battle already so you will just have to prepare yourself for the 2 battles you will be waiting for after this.

Suzy told the Tapti Commander.

The Tapti Commander followed.

They then left the battlefield after the fight was stopped by ordering his soldiers that they’d surrendered.

The Zion Village warriors then wailed.

HAAAAH!!!

They roared at the top of their lungs for being the first victor of the Gallant Battle.

They all left the battlefield and headed to the Village afterward, they all celebrated their victory, they ate, they drank, and they have fun, though they can’t have too much fun since the warriors that have participated in the battle will be standbys for their attack the next day.

With what the rules of the Gallant Battle are laid out, the Zion Village will have to look for an untouched Ancient Village to attack the next day of them getting attacked.

And the Elders of the Village have already finished forming the soldiers that will be needed tomorrow, and the Commander assigned to attack is ready as well.

Commander, is heading to the head of the enemy always a great idea? I have heard of many that did the same idea being done, so many of them failed, or worse, get killed too.

An Elder asked Suzy while they’re feasting on some food.

It’s not really a matter of how they execute the idea, it’s who executes the idea, in this case, I did it, so it’s successful, I don’t doubt myself, now that I’ve been doing this Gallant Battle for 12 years now or so, it’s not easy, but it has been less burdening because I’ve grown stronger than before, that of course, is obvious.

Suzy answered the Elder’s question.

She then drank some liquor, she’s the only one that can drink booze because she can, but also because she will be heading to the Theist Country to stay there because she’s only allowed to help the Zion Village and the Theist Country in defending instead of attacking because if she did help in attacking, she will definitely lead the victory.

So you’ll be heading to the Theist tomorrow, Suzy?

The Elder asked her, somewhat worried about her.

Tonight, to be precise, Elder, I need to do some things there, they tend to prepare too much, especially when attacking, I should at least help with post-organizing, I would definitely feel bad for leaving them after defending, but at the same time, I will be returning here once the Theist Country attacks the Seven Villages and defend against them.

Suzy explained as she answered the Elder’s question.

She then continues her drink.

Suzy continued her drinking and eating with the warriors of the Village, and even though she’s drinking a lot of booze, due to her abilities, she is barely drunk by the booze she’s drinking; no amount of alcohol can make her drunk because of her resistance to them.

And after all the warriors rested and headed to their homes, Suzy is preparing for her stay in the Theist Country, she’s currently getting a few things from her house to take to the Theist Country.

After she’s done, she left the Zion Village and head to the Theist Country.

The Midnight rises, that’s when Suzy arrived at the Theist Country, obviously, many residents of the Country noticed her enter.

Madam Suzy! It’s Midnight! You should’ve at least rested at the Village and headed here in the morning.

I’m fine with this time, I don’t have any trouble moving around at night anyway, and by the way, you’re still in patrol? Why have you not changed shifts yet?

Suzy responded to the guard and asked him since he’s been guarding even in the morning.

Oh, he got sick, insect bite, I thought it will get better soon, but I spoke too soon.

Where is he resting right now? I think I have an antidote for insect bites.

Suzy asked him.

He’s at the Medical Block the one close here.

I’ll head there, you get some coffee in and I will request a substitute, you need your resting since the Gallant has already started.

Suzy told him as she heads to the Medical Block in the Southeast, where they currently are.

The Gallant has already started? Is that why she’s here at midnight? I also saw the Zion Village causing a commotion from afar, anyway, that’s not my business, better take the Madam’s advice, also, it’s my first time talking to Madam Suzy that long, and it’s kind of amazing, especially since she remembered me in the morning.

Suzy then arrived at the Medical Block, she then enters the Medical Block and located for a guard in the Southeast gate, after she found him, or her since Suzy saw her.

The guard must’ve thought she’s a man since she’s trying to hide it, I hope she’s a properly trained warrior since if not, she’s not qualified to be a Gate guard, but Tests for Gate guards are difficult, she must’ve been training hard, after carefully looking at her muscles.

Suzy thought after entering and examining the Gate guard lying down asleep on the bed.

Suzy Tereus is allowed to examine because she is not only trained as a warrior but also as medical support as well, she has a lot of time in her growing that she needed to learn some useful skills, whatever she gets her hands on, she doesn’t need to be a Master, she just needs to be adept at it, and Medical Support is one of those skills she is adept at.

She then provided aid for the Gate guard, but first, she wakes her up.

Can you wake up for a minute?

Suzy asked the Gate guard as she wiggles her lightly.

Ugh… Who?

I’m Suzy Tereus, I have a medication for you to take.

She introduced herself after the Gate guard asked.

Madam Suzy… Why are you here? *gasp* You saw?!

The Gate guard was so surprised that Suzy saw her female body as if she’s trying to hide them.

Don’t move too much, you’re still sick, lie down, I’m not here to expose something like this, I’m good at keeping secrets anyway, now.

Suzy told her, reassuring her so that she can be calm.

Suzy slowly lies her back down on the bed.

Here, drink this, it’s water.

Suzy gave her the medication and a glass of water.

I don’t know what this is about, but I will trust her, she’s Madam Suzy, why would she lie?

The Gate guard then drank the medication after she took them from Suzy.

There you go, I’m hopeful that tomorrow, you will get better, you head to sleep now.

Suzy told her after the Gate guard drank the medication.

Madam Suzy, I know you’re kind, but seeing your kindness face to face is something else, I saw those banners and people that hate on you, but I think they’re wrong.

Let them believe what they believe; just do your best to not involve yourself with them or you will definitely return here if it gets troublesome.

Suzy told the Gate guard, warning her and advising her to not go near the Anti-Tereus.

Anti-Tereus are the ones that hate on Suzy Tereus, the ones that put the illegal banner on many places, even inviting others to join them.

I hope it ends; I just don’t want to deal with dramas like this.

Suzy thought as she prays for it.
