My night was both long and short.
It was horribly long because, contrary to my belief of sleeping off my worries and questions just like I did the night before, I couldn’t sleep.
And it was short because of the same reason… I couldn’t sleep until the wee hours of this morning.
“Princess Joanna.” Mina's voice cut my already short night even shorter. “You have to get up now.”
“No, I don’t have to,” I grumbled without opening my eyes.
I could just tell I hadn’t enjoyed a full two hours of sleep, so why was she trying to get me up?
“Yes, you do, Princess.” Sela’s voice came next, and she didn’t stop with just talking.
She took it a step further by shaking my body until I finally pushed my body into a sitting position, eyes still closed.
