My voice caught in my throat, fading as I drowned in a terrifying sea of pain.

This wasn't just a bruise or a broken rib from a sparring session; this was my entire anatomy being dismantled and reassembled by a force that didn't care if I survived this hell.
I thought the snap and pop would only last a while, but it lasted longer, accelerating with every second that passed.
