Damien couldn't get Isa out of his head. He found himself thinking about her sharp tongue and quick wit, her piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair. He was intrigued by her intelligence and confidence, and he couldn't help but wonder what lay beneath her tough exterior.
But every time he tried to talk to her, she shut him down. "I'm not interested in your charming smile and empty flattery, Damien," she'd say, or "I don't have time for your games, playboy."
Damien was taken aback. No one had ever rejected him like that before. He was used to girls fawning over him, not dismissing him like he was beneath them.
But he couldn't help but feel drawn to Isa. She was like a puzzle he couldn't solve, a mystery he couldn't crack. And he was determined to figure her out.
One day, he decided to take a different approach. Instead of trying to charm her, he asked her about her interests. "Hey, Isa, what do you like to do for fun?" he asked, genuinely curious.
Isa raised an eyebrow. "I like to read, write, and paint. And I'm not just saying that to impress you, Damien."
Damien smiled. "I'm not trying to impress you, Isa. I just want to get to know you better."
Isa looked at him skeptically, but for a moment, Damien thought he saw a glimmer of something else in her eyes. Something like...hope?
Damien's persistence slowly began to chip away at Isa's defenses. She found herself enjoying their conversations, despite her initial reluctance. He was charming and witty, and he seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her.
One day, Damien asked Isa about her favorite books. "I'm a big fan of classic literature," she said. "Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, that sort of thing."
Damien's eyes lit up. "No way! I love Austen too. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books."
Isa raised an eyebrow. "Really? I wouldn't have pegged you as a romance reader."
Damien grinned. "Hey, I'm full of surprises. Maybe I'll have to lend you my copy of Wuthering Heights sometime."
Isa smiled, despite herself. "Maybe I'll take you up on that offer."
As they continued to talk, Isa found herself feeling more and more at ease around Damien. She was surprised to discover that they had a lot in common, from their love of literature to their passion for social justice.
But just as she was starting to let her guard down, Damien's friends interrupted, teasing him about his "new girlfriend." Isa's eyes narrowed, and she quickly regained her composure.
"Don't get too excited, Damien," she said, her voice icy once again. "I'm not interested in being your latest conquest."
Damien looked taken aback, but Isa just turned and walked away, leaving him feeling confused and more than a little intrigued.
As the days went by, Damien found himself thinking about Isa more and more. He was drawn to her intelligence and wit, her sharp tongue and quick mind. He wanted to know more about her, to understand what made her tick.
One day, Damien sat at his favorite coffee shop
Just a few miles outside the school thinking about football and keeping his grades up and just while he was lost in his thoughts Isa walked in.. looking guarded as always, he decided to take a chance and go sit with her "Hey, Isa, would you like to share a coffee with me?" he asked, trying to sound casual.
“So you come here too” he tried to start a conversation “This the best coffee shop in town, my dad used to take me here when I was a kid how come I never seen you here before?”
Isa raised an eyebrow. "What do you want, Damien? You're not exactly my type."
Damien smiled. "I just want to have coffee with you, in silence”.
Isa looked at him skeptically, but Damien could see a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes. "Fine," she said finally. "But don't expect me to go easy on you."
Damien grinned. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
As they sipped coffee and talked, Damien discovered that Isa was even more fascinating than he had imagined. She was passionate about social justice, fiercely intelligent, and had a quick wit that left him in stitches.
But despite their growing connection, Isa remained guarded, her walls firmly in place. Damien just found himself for some reason wanting to prove himself, to show her that he was more than just a charming smile and a pretty face.
And so, he set out to win her trust, if for nothing at least to show his friends that he can get her but deep down in his heart he wanted to show her that he was worthy of her love.
