Anxiety is a shadow that looms
A constant presence, a cloud that consumes
It grips your heart, it clouds your mind
Leaving you restless, scared, and confined
It whispers in your ear, a voice so loud
Telling you things that make you feel cowed
What if this, what if that, what if it's all wrong?
The what-ifs and maybes, a never-ending song
It steals your peace, it steals your sleep
It makes you wonder, it makes you weep
You try to shake it, but it won't let go
It's a weight that you carry, a burden you know
But know that you are not alone
There are others who have felt this known
Reach out, ask for help, don't suffer in silence
There is hope, there is light, there is a chance
Take a deep breath, let it out slow
Feel the tension ease, feel the calm flow
You are stronger than you know, you are not weak
Believe in yourself, and the answers you seek
I try to shake you off, to breathe
To find some peace in the present hour
But you cling tighter, suffocating
And every escape seems to sour
Anxiety, my constant shadow
You warp my days, you rob my nights
You make me question all I know
And fill my world with endless fights
But still I try to stand and face you
To name you and to claim my space
To find the courage to keep going
And someday find a brighter place.
