The few hours passed like seconds. Today is fun. Dinner was great. Ummu and her husband are very cheerful and fun to be with. Their cheerful spirit is contagious. Even the little devil did loose himself today. We had to leave as early as possible because it seems like it's going to rain. They escort us to the gate as we are about to leave. "Thank you for dinner today." I spoke as we are about to leave. "It's nothing." she wave me off. Adeel grabbed my hand, "let's go it will be raining any moment from now." We walk in silence with none of us talking. Everyone engrossed in his own thoughts. The sky is tar black. We quickened our pace at the clouds begins to gather in the sky. I look up. Large clouds are moving towards us. Trees are moving from side to side from the effect of the strong wind. I removed my hand from his. He turned to look at me. "What?" He asked in a demanding tone. Sounding a little louder than normal over the sound of the wind. "You can't just hold my hand when you feel like." I retorted back. He just do what he likes as if I'm a thing. He didn't answer me. He draped his hands around my shoulder drawing me closer tightly. I tried to push him off but my strength is no match for him. "You better stop struggling and Just behave. You shouldn't have complain about holding hands in the first place. " Idiot! "Did you just say something? " "No! I didn't say anything." "Good. I will pretend that I didn't hear you." The little devil! "I'm not going to pretend I didn't hear you this time." Gosh.. Why do I have to think loudly? I.. His next words remain unheard at the rain begins to pour. We quickened our pace. But it seems like the rain is in more hurry than we are. We walked faster as the rain pour mercilessly Upon the heart of the city. Pounding on the rooftops and turning the street into a Warren of muddy waters. My heels keep sticking in the mud making me walk slower. "What are you doing?" Adeel turned to look at me. He look down and noticed how my heels are getting stuck. "What are we going to do now? You can't remove them and walk bare footed. Why did you wear heels in the first place?" "Why?" Is he going to blame me now? "Why didn't you stop me?" I shouted over the rain fuming with anger. "Don't cry." Stay for a minute. The next thing I knew is that Adeel carried me bridal style. I couldn't do anything for I was shocked. I closed my eyes as the rain pour down trying to process what just happened. "Put your hands around my neck." He shouted we are almost there. I reluctantly did as he told me. My heart pounding. None of us talking. I opened my eyes to find us at our gate. You can put me down. We are here. He put me down I search my purse for the key. I unlocked the house and we went in. Droplets of water falling on the tiles from our soaked bodies. I made my way to my room and he made his way to his. After cleaning and changing into my night gown. I picked my hijab and put it. I made my way back to the living room and start cleaning. Adeel opened his room. I looked up to find him standing with a moper in one hand and a broom in the other. Wow! Was he really going to clean. "Why are you laughing?" He asked creasing his brow. Making his face look more attractive. "Seriously? Are you really thinking of cleaning? " "What do you think?" He smirked. "I was going to clean he answered innocently." "You are more scary when you are like this." I told him honestly. "Do I scream danger?" "Sort of." I picked the bucket and moper and turned to my room when Adeel stopped me. "Are you going to sleep?" He asked. "Yes." I looked up at him. He is scratching his head. Now I'm curious. "Don't tell me you are hungry and you want me to cook for you." I announced with wide eyes. What is he? A bulldozer?? "No, watch a movie with me?" "What?" "Have you lost your hearing? Watch a movie with me?" "No" "Are you scared of me?" "No" "Then please?" And he smiled. That beautiful smile. "Okay let me drop these first." When I came back to the living room. The center table Is moved to the side. He put a blanket and pillows in the floor. He is siting with his attention on the TV. "What are you a kid?" "Just come and watch you talk to much." I sat at a distance from him. "What? You want me to watch horror movie? Are you kidding me?" "You are afraid." He stated. "Let's watch frozen." "The ice queen?" "Yes" "No I'm not watching that. I'm a man! M. A. N. Man!" "I'm not watching horror movie either." "Then pick anything else but no animation." "Okay." I move forward and begin searching. I spot some plain white disc. "What are these?" No answer "What are these plain ones?" When he didn't answer I turned to look at him. There is a tear on his cheek. He has completely zone out. The sight of him like this gave me a twisted feeling. I don't know what the feeling is. What could possibly make someone like him cry? Is he broken? I never thought I will see Adeel like this. This is not the stony cold creature. This is another Adeel. One I'm seeing for the first time. "Adeel," I called softly. "Jidda did you get it?" He asked lightening up. "You were crying." "You must be sleepy." "What is it?" I asked "Let's just watch the movie. Which one are you selecting?" "Will you go back to being cold and moody?" "Maybe." He grinned And I laughed. I hope not.
