ADEEL I vowed never to marry again. Never to love again. Never to let myself be vulnerable again. I will never give someone the ability to hurt me again . I promised never to allow myself to be a victim of the tragic event that I have managed to walk through. It has been two years. But every time I think of it,It feels like it was just a few seconds ago. I still feel the pain. Some old wounds never truly heal. They bleed again at the slightest word. She called me evil. The word evil stirred the pain in my heart. And I lost it. I became furious. I scared the poor girl. I can't seem to forget the look in her eyes when I left. It bothered me. If I hadn't left that moment I would have hugged her and told her that I am sorry. No I wouldn't do that. I don't like her. I don't care what she thinks of me. I want her to hate me. To stay away from me. Since after the Incidence of two years ago. My mom has been trying her best to get me married. After many unsuccessful attempt she finally got her wish fulfilled when she paired me with jidda. As usual I refused. Until when I was forced to go see her. When I first saw her, I couldn't stop staring. She looks breathtaking. When she spoke. Her beautiful voice hit me straight in the heart. I began to panic. I was scared. So I said the first thing that came to my mouth. I won't marry you. And she smiled. "feelings are mutual" she replied. Her voice soft. The sound of my phone ringing woke me up from my slumber. I picked the phone with out looking at the caller. "Assalamu Alaikum "I said. "Adeel!" Mom yelled from the other side. "Haven't I asked you to bring your wife over? It has been a week." "Mom.." "Don't you dare mom me. When are you bringing her over?" "How about next week?" I blurted out. "No. Not next week. Bring her tomorrow morning." And she hung up. How am I supposed to tell her now? I made my way to the living room but she was not there. I found myself standing at her door knocking. "Who is that?" She asked "Who else?" I replied. "Get away from my door." "After you open it and hear me out only then I will leave." "I am not opening! Go away!" I kept knocking. When the door suddenly jerked open. I came face to face with the cute face of an angry Jidda. "What is wrong with you?" She yelled. "You sound like a man." I replied instead. "What?" She was about to shut the door in my face when I held it. "Am taking you to my mom tomorrow morning. You should be ready by 9:00. And try as much as possible to look presentable." I added out of nowhere. May be to annoy her more. With that I walked away to avoid laughing at the expression on her face.
