It's been a month since we went to the police station to talk to the police about Beth. The officer who talked to us was kind and it seemed like he listened to what we had to say. He told us that he would look into it, so it feels like he took us seriously. I felt numb when we left the police station. The numbness has been keeping a tight grip on my body ever since but now it feels like it's starting to loosen the grip. When I woke up this morning, it felt like I could take a breath for the first time in a whole month. A refreshing, deep breath and suddenly I feel like it's going to be okay.
