Hide n’ Seek

As she was looking out of the window of her room, Melizabeth Rascutin inhaled the smell of morning dew emanating from the various gardens and lawns on the manor. The warm morning shined its rays across her smooth dark skin as the morning’s wind cooled it. With her still on her bed, she turned her head to meet the door of her large room. She’d been laid on her bed for the last ten minutes looking up at her ceiling. It was never anything beautiful, there was nothing in particular about that wall of her bedroom, nothing that should’ve kept her there, away from her morning activities. But now that she looked at it, she thought of how much she would miss waking up to that sight. The noise of the town's illustrious grand clock was starting up again, signaling that another day was beginning. The maids of manor scurried into the room with Melizabeth clothing, despite their knowing she would eventually trade it for something more comfortable, something that was not approved by the master of the manor. The black and gold fabrics they came in with were now on their owner. The gold patterns on each part of the dress were real twenty-four-carat gold and black feathers that complemented the fine black fabric were those of specially bred crows. This dress was the type of elegant dress where the corset showed. The corset that was a rusty brown, and bore some clocks was made from leather and were laced with black, while the clocks were made from master craftsmen from all over Enbrion. The shoes that Melizabeth wore on her feet at this moment were just as of the same theme as the corset, rusty brown, but in place clocks, gears stood to turn. The little pocket was added and so were studded belts. There were belts that hung from her hips along with chains that were stopped from falling to their full extent due to the frilliness of the dress. The dress on itself looked very elegant, but on Melizabeth it looked like a dress befit for a queen. She’d always had the effect, especially when she wasn’t trying. The first thing Melizabeth left to do was greet Griffin. Her relationship with him was something like forbidden love. She, the daughter of higher classmen, is in love with a butler, and at that, the butler of house Manger. Her cousin's family was over for a business meeting between two of the five elite families or Enbrion. These types of meetings made her uneasy, knowing her fate, her future. Walking over to her beloved's room was not allowed, especially by her father. It was not that he had known, it was just the fact of her walking into any boy's room. She was now seventeen, but her father still saw her as an eight-year-old. The door creaked open the door quietly. Her footsteps made less noise the more steps she took into the dark room. As she approached the bed, a soft wind blew open the curtains to reveal his face. Griffin's face. His face looked like that of a prince. Freckles on his face were cascaded perfectly around his perfect nose and lightly tanned skin. And even though he was asleep, his dark brown curls were an effortless kind of messy. Green orbs emerged between his eyelids as he started to gain consciousness. She stared at him as his eyes dilated enough to recognize her face, as when they did, he took her by the waist and rushed her onto the bed. His lips were already on her neck. "G-Griffin", Melizabeth shrieked. The surprise was never new. His hands dug under the overalls she was now wearing and worked their way up. "Geez, get a room", a voice said from the doorway. Griffin didn't bother stopping when he said: "Well we are in a room, my room. " At this point, Melizabeth pried him off, but as a pity, gave him a kiss. "You know if your old man saw this, you and your lover boy would be in a lot of trouble." He looked over to the window. "Put a shirt on already, we have work to do before the meeting." "How about another game of Hide n' Seek first.'' Another soft voice stood where Viktor was standing less than a minute ago. "You should cover up the marks on your neck Lady Melizabeth." The voice belonged to Melizabeth's maid. "Sorry Millie, " Griffin said, his face turned in the opposite direction. She very well knew he didn't mean it. He would do it again if nobody were in the room at the moment. "Ok, so rules," Sylvia said. "We can use gadgets" "Anywhere in the house, right?" "And no fooling around." Viktor and Sylvia looked over at the couple, sitting too close together. The game always lacked importance when Griffin could find a way to distract her. And with that, they started the game
