CHAPTER FOURTEEN I needed to do one final thing before I could leave to start my new life with Anna. I needed to confront Richard Basker. All of my father’s words of wisdom ran wildly through my head. Immediately after I disembarked the train, I hailed a carriage. The various expenditures of the day had very nearly emptied my wallet, but I had just enough money to do what I needed to do before leaving.
