The music filled the room, but around Adrian, everything felt quieter. He stood near the edge of the hall, a glass of champagne is his hand, untouched. ".... So it's true?" Voices drifted form across the room. Carlos stood surrounded by few young masters, their expression curious. " You actually brought someone?" A pause. "....Is he your partern?" Carlos didn't hesitate this time."Yes" That single word shifted something. Not shock. Curiosity. They didn't press further_ but their eyes said enough. Adrian looked away. So that's how it is. " I though i warned you." The voice came from behind him. Closer than before. Adrian didn't turn immediately. " It seems like you didn't take what i told you last time seriously." Now he turned. Edgar stood there, calm, composed, a faint smile on his lips. But his eyes were cold. " I don't know what you're talking about." Edgar let out a quiet breath. " Wearing something expensive doesn't change anything," he said, his gaze sweeping over Adrian. " You're still just poor student." A step closer. " You don't belong here." His voice dropped. " And you definitely don't belong near him." Adrian stayed silent. Watching. That silence irritated more than any reply. "You're not the first," Edgar continued." You're just another toy." A slight smile. " When he's done with you, you'll disappear like the rest." Adrian finally moved. One step forward. Then another. Closing the distance. " If that's true...." his voice calm, almost soft, " ....Why are you tell me this?" Edgar's expression tightened. Adrian tilted his head slightly. "He's the one following me like a dog." A pause. " Not the other way around." Edgar let out a short laugh, but there was no humor in it. " Following you?" he repeated." Who do you think you are?" His voice sharpened. " Someone begging for attention?" " Or just wanting his money?" Adrian stepped closer. Closer enough now. His voice lowered. "...Maybe." A brief pause. "... but at least I'm not like you." Edgar froze. Adrian's gaze didn't waver. "... standing on the side..." " ...wanting something you can't have." Another pause. ".... and pretending you don't care." Silence. Heavy. " For a few days..." Adrian added quietly, "I have something you couldn't get it in years." That was enough. Edgar's expression cracked. " How dare you_" His hand moved instantly, grabbing a bottle from the table. The movement was sharp. Uncontrolled. Someone gasped. Adrian saw it. The bottle rising. Fast. But he didn't move. Didn't defend. Didn't step back. He simply closed his eyes. The swing came_ CRACK. The sound cut through the entire hall. Sharp. Violent. But_ no pain followed. Adrian's eyes opened slowly. His hand raised. The shattered bottle pressed against it. Glass broken. Liquid dripping. A thin line of blood running down his skin. Silence fell. Heavy. Unmoving. No one spoke. No one dared. And Adrian_ for the first time_ hesitated.
