Carlos didn't looked away. Even after lowered his gaze... even after that brief moment passed_ His attention remained. Fixed. Unmoving. There was something off. Something that didn't sit right. The Omega in front of him _ should have reach differently. Carlos had seen it countless times before. The hesitation. The nervousness. The subtle excitement. The way their eyes lingered just a little to long. But this one_ Nothing. No reaction. No interest. No fear. It was as if Carlos didn't exist. And then. Carlos caught it. A scent. Faint. Subtle. Almost hidden. His brows knit slightly. That wasn't right. Omegas had scents that were easy to recognize_ soft, sweet, sometimes overwhelming. Predictable. But this one... It was different. Cool. Clean. With quiet sharpness beneath it. Like rain just before a storm. Like something calm on the surface_ but hiding something deeper. Carlos inhaled slightly without meaning to. Trying to place it. Trying to understand it. It didn't weak. It didn't feel soft. It felt... dangerous. " ...Sit." The word slipped from his lips before he could stop it. Calm. Casual. But carrying quiet authority. A ripped moved through the room. Adrian gave a small nod. " Thank you." And just like that_ he took the seat beside him. The lecture began soon after. The professor's voice filled the room, steady and controlled, but Carlos barely registered a single word. Because now- he was aware of it. The presence beside him. The scent. The silence. Adrian sat straight, focused on his notes, pen moving smoothly across the page. Not once did he glance sideways. Not once did he acknowledge Carlos. Carlos eyes flickered toward him again. Slow. Measured. Still nothing. That scent lingered faintly in the air. Controlled. Supressed. But unmistakable. Strange. Most Omegas tried to make their presence known. They leaned closer. They spoke. The reacted. This one did none of that. And somehow_ that made him impossible to ignore. Minutes passed. Then more. Carlos found himself watching again. Not openly. But enough. The way Adrian's fingers moved. Steady. Precise. The way he carried himself. Too composed. Too controlled. Not weak. Not at all. What are you...? The though came without warning. By the time the lecture ended, the silence between them had grown heavier. More noticeable. Students began packing their things, voices returning in low murmurs. Some still glancing their way. Still confused. Adrian closed his book neatly and slipped it into his bag. Then stood. And that was when Carlos moved. His hand reached out_ fingers wrapping around Adrian's wrist. Firm. Controlled. Not enough to hurt him. Just enough to stop him. The movement was subtle_ but the reaction wasn't. Nearby students fell silent again. Watching. Waiting. Adrian paused. Slowly turning his head. Their eyes met. Carlos held his gaze this time. Unapologic. Direct. " Cofee," he said. Simple. Clear. " Come with me." It wasn't a question. It was expectation. Adrian looked at him for a moment. Long enough to feel real. Long enough to make Carlos wait. Then_ he gently pull his wrist free. "...No." The answer was quiet. But firm. For the first time_ Carlos hesitated. " I'm busy," Adrian added calmly. " I just arrived. I need to get used to campus." Still no reaction. Still no interest. Carlos tilted his head slightly, studying him. " I can help with that." Adrian shook his head. A small, polite movement. " Thank you," he said. " But i'ather do it myself." Silence. Rejection. Clear. Undeniable. Adrian adjusted his bag and turned. Walking away without hesitation. Without looking back. Step by step_ he disappeared into the crowd. Carlos remained where he stood. Watching. Thinking. That scent till lingered faintly in the air. Unfamiliar. Unsettling. A slow smile formed on his lips. ".... Interesting." Outside_ Adrian walked calmly through hallway, blending into the flow of students. His expression remained unchanged. Quiet. Composed. But inside_ his thoughts were sharp. Focused. Certain. Hooked. Carlos De Luca had noticed him. Not just seen_ noticed. And that was enough. For now.
