The New Look

Natalie's POV

Come Monday I wore a skirt and top with a little heeled sandals,I also kept my make up natural cause I didn't want something so over the top and I straightened my natural curls as a black girl.Coming down for school my parents were surprised which was a little awkward but after some few seconds my dad finally said,"you're beautiful Natalie but then you've always been beautiful anyway" , "thanks dad" I replied "so how come you finished on time today,awwww my beautiful daughter is now very responsible" she cooed and I laughed as I ate breakfast.I walked to the car to wait for Judah when I was done,preparing myself mentally for the last time, I was a girl on a mission.

My brother looked at me and smiled as he got into the car, it was creepy at first so I just scowled but then he said "Hey Nat,just know I love you always and that you are beautiful not because of how you look only but because of a blend of your inner and outer features", " Hey.....Jude" I sang and he rolled his eyes smiling, smiling too I continued "I love you too, best brother ever even though you are a manwhore" he laughed as he drove to pick up Andre.

"Goodmorning gu.....ys,hey Nat you look hot I mean beautiful" Andre said scratching his head "you're not bad yourself" I replied smiling "Dre shut up and get in the car"Judah said laughing "sure" he replied "so guys what's the plan for college since you've got a little over a month to be out of here tops" I asked "little Nat,we've got our mind focused on acing our exams right now" Andre said "we need to get our heads in our books more, no more partying for me " Judah said"yea" Andre replied and then turning to me he said "and speaking of getting our heads in our books we would be spending more time with you since you are so good at discipline and focus for a long period of time", " Ok,when do we start" I asked "today" they replied at once,we began drawing up a timetable as we were on our way to pick Joy up. "Splendid morning to you guys" joy said "you too" we all replied while Andre and I focused on what we were doing.I looked at Joy briefly and smiled,she winked and my brother laughed.

The successive weeks were spent on studying, flirting with Andre and on our exams.At the end of it all Andre and I were closer than before and I decided to be straight forward and tell him how I feel about him.Attending the guys last highschool party at Andre's place I decided that was the right time to do this,go big or go home right? I just needed the right moment as the party went into full mode I danced with my friends,drank a little, danced some more with some hot guys but decided to find Andre when they got too handsy with me. I noticed that joy had gone upstairs with some hot guy and Catherine was no where in site,obviously she was with Andrew,my brother was just being the manwhore he usually is with two girls who were obviously enjoying his attention. Searching for Andre, I saw him going upstairs alone and I followed, stopping at the rest room upstairs to quickly see if I was a mess before approaching Andre,I heard screaming and I rushed out to find Andre screaming at Joy.

"You are such a slut,a f*****g heartless b***h,I told you I loved you and you f*****g shut me down"Andre said obviously tipsy "that cause I don't and would never feel that way about you end of story" Joy replied pushing Andre away and trying to shut the door but Andre was not having it "I taught you needed time,I mean I just asked two days back so maybe you needed me to be a little more persistent,chase you and all that s**t" Andre said"I never told you I love a chase,or those push and pull thing,I was straight with you" Joy replied "You slut, you f*****g ripped my heart out,s**t!how could I be so stupid" Andre screamed "dude calm the f**k down,there are bitches to go round" the unknown guy with joy said "shut up asshole,I needed you to scratch an itch and it's done so f**k off" joy said "you f****d him in my f*****g room you w***e" Andre shouted "and how was I to know that was your room,besides I don't care cause I don't feel that way about you,why not focus that energy on someone who actually liked you or are you f*****g blind" Joy screamed "Get the f**k out of my party and my house" Andre said storming off dragging me with him,I was too shocked to react,I simply followed.

"Andre what was that about" I asked as we sat outside, I watched him pull his hand through his hair and then he said to me ripping my heart out "I can't believe I love that slut,I can't believe I actually set myself up to be hurt by telling her about it and not believing it when she said she doesn't give a s**t about me, wow!" "I'm sorry Andre" I said knowing obviously that I understand him,I understand what it means to waste your emotion on the wrong person who doesn't care about you

"Hey baby" Anita cooed as she approached us focusing on Andre "I know how to make you feel better,we were always good together let me help you through this" she whispered playing with her blonde hair and just like that she was all over him, I expected him to push her away,she was his ex for God sake who also cheated on him multiple times but I guess I was expecting too much from the wrong person as he continued to rip my heart and lungs out,it hurts so much that breathing was difficult.At that moment joy and Catherine came out. Catherine came quickly to my side touching my face,that's when I realized I was crying,my world was crumbling.

Joy noticed I was crying so she attacked Andre again "You are pathetic that's why you go for leeches like her,blind and pathetic that why you can't get who love you and who don't" she said "Joy please stop" I begged quietly not even recognizing my voice "yea i'm really pathetic to love a w***e like you" Andre replied "Andre is mine you losers, trying too much and being pathetic" Anita said looking at me, taunting me,it was too much for me so I screamed "enough all of you" I turned to joy "can you please take me home,i'm tired and I need to call it a night"I asked and she nodded "Are you ok little Nat,let me take you home" Andre said " No never mind,I need some time with my girls anyway" I replied "besides you have a w***e clinging to you like a magnet, we don't want to attract STD" Catherine added "jealous much" Anita replied"Andre let's go already"she said pouting while rubbing his arm "OK,emm.........Nat take care,I'll check up on you later"

That summer I avoided Andre like the plague before he left for college and Anita was all over him but during his freshman year he visited and during that visit he told me how he doesn't care to date anymore and thought if he had someone like me who was loyal he would definitely want a relationship,I told him he had me and he replied "Natalie NYU is far away from here but I wish you were close by" just like that hope lit up in my heart again and I was ready to try once more.
