Chapter FIVE
Denise stretched her body long and tight beneath the cool sheet. Then she let it relax quickly as she cuddled again into her pillow and closed her eyes. But sleep would not return to her. She waited a few minutes, then threw back the sheet and jumped out of bed.
She looked down at the empty bed space next to her. She smiled, thinking of Tanner and of the comfort he had already given her, the security of his big naked body next to her as she slept, his rousing laugh when she awoke, and many times before wakefulness truly came to her, the sudden closeness of his big body which seemed always to awaken the need for greater closeness.
