The sudden bang of the door being thrown wide open startled Morvienne awake. Her body jerked upright at once, her heart slamming hard against her chest as sleep vanished completely. She was confused for a second, her eyes a bit blurry. Then she saw him. "Get up," Sevrin said harshly as he walked toward the bed, his boots heavy against the floor. Before she could react, he tossed a bundle of clothes and a toothbrush at her, the items landing near her legs. "I had someone bring these for you," he told her. "I don't need you looking unkept or dirty." Morvienne scrambled back immediately, moving deeper into the bed, her hands pressing into the mattress as she tried to put some distance between them despite the one they already had, and he noticed.
