“Aiden, I can’t live like this anymore,” I said, my voice filled with frustration as I lay on his chest. “It’s turning me into a monster and I feel good about killing people,” I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper.
Aiden’s hands stroked my hair, his touch gentle. “You’re not a monster, Noah.” He reassured me, his words soothing and comforting. “Are you ready to consider your mother's deal?”
I jerked up, my eyes flashing with anger. “Don’t refer to that woman as my mother again,” I warned, my voice low and even. “She’s not my mother, she’s a huntress who killed my father.”
