Chapter 30
I entered the library and left Shane in the street. I know he was standing there waiting like a gentleman to see I got there safely. I told him I would meet my friend for a study session, which was true, but I didn’t know when they would arrive.
It felt so difficult to say goodbye to Shane. I was scared to hug him. I wanted to do it so badly, and my lips were on his before I could even think. They were soft and tender with a taste of mint. I wanted more, but I didn’t dare. I thought he would reject me and tell me to stop or never to do that again. He didn’t. He kissed me back. It was a tame and tender kiss filled with affection. The best kiss I ever had.
Walking into the library, I took giddy steps. I didn’t turn to look at Shane because if I did, I would run back to him an
