"Did something happen?"
Jack muttered, watching Sarah’s distressed expression through the security monitor as she spoke on the phone, her face a mix of panic and sorrow.
Lucas, standing nearby, noticed the unusual intensity in Jack’s gaze.
"Is everything alright, Mr. Knight?"
Jack glanced at Lucas, his brows furrowing.
"Something’s not right," he replied, voice low. "I’ll step out for a bit. Handle things here until I return."
He walked briskly out of the office, unable to shake the unsettling feeling that had settled in his gut.
Jack had seen that expression on Sarah’s face before, a look he couldn't ignore.
She had bolted from the Zenith Group building right after receiving the call—whatever had happened, it was urgent.
