The desk vibrated from the communicator going off. Kain’s eyes fluttered before opening, and it took him a minute to realize what was going on and that he had passed out last night while working at his desk. He coughed, cleared his dry throat, and grabbed the device.             “Kain here.”             “I’ve called an emergency meeting in the grand hall in twenty minutes. Get dressed and meet me in the corridor,” Gabriel ordered.             “I understand, Father. Just give me a minute I’ll be right out,” he replied, now fully awake. He tried to flatten out the creases in uniform. After a few moments of fruitless effort, he gave up and turned towards the door.             Gabriel didn’t say a word before turning away from his son to head towards the lift.
