Rhea Everwood The sun was just starting to peek through the heavy curtains when Rowan stepped into my chambers, I was shocked to see him when he knocked and stepped inside. He had that worried look on his face, the one that always made my chest feel a little tight, I wondered what had happened this time again. “Rhea,” he started, his voice soft, “how are you feeling?” I gave him a small smile, pushing myself up against the plush pillows. “I’m fine, Rowan, truly. What brings you down so early?” He shifted his weight, looking at his feet for a second. “It’s about… what I said yesterday. About killing those night guards. It was wrong of me to mention that, I shouldn’t have put that on you.” My smile softened. Rowan, bless his heart, always carried the weight of the world on his shoulder
