Rhea Everwood My anger at Rowan had burned hot and fast. He’d torn away my one chance, the possibility of getting the answers I wanted, but as the hours had ticked by, I wasn’t so angry anymore. He had always stood by me, and for that, I had to forgive him. I wish it didn’t hurt so much. I watched the gloomy sky when a soft knock echoed from my door, pulling me from my thoughts. “Come in,” I called out, my voice a little hoarse. The door swung inward, and Sage stepped into the room, “I saw your light was still on,” he said, and took a few steps closer. “Are you still angry?” I turned my head from the window to give him a small, tired smile. “No, not anymore.” I pushed myself away from the windowpane. “I feel… better. Calmer.” He nodded, a look of relief smoothing the lines of concern
