CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN Midnight came and went. Dax hadn’t got to the mansion. He was on his way, sort of, it wasn’t like he was hiding out. Waiting for the meeting made him edgy, so he’d gone to the bar to hang out with the crew. Only a few minutes after getting there did he acknowledge being social wasn’t the draw, he came for the booze. When the meeting time rolled around, he was too wasted to drive. Good sense dictated he shouldn’t dare go near his bike. But, with every intention of going to Mauri’s, he rose from the back corner couch, where he’d been slouched, observing his men enjoying their evening.
