CHAPTER SEVEN After another four days of isolation, even opening her eyes was a struggle. What was the point in trying? Putting up a fight, resisting these men, was going to kill her. She had to get out of this room. Out of the cage. Living in the dark was demoralizing, but not as detrimental as the sapping of her energy through lack of food and water. If these men abandoned her, she’d die. If they brought her upstairs, and a chance of escape presented itself, she wouldn’t be strong enough to take it. Getting upstairs, living upstairs, even if it meant being nude twenty-four seven, was her only hope. Survival instincts kicked in. The drive to see the sun and be free was overwhelming.
