Adeshola

Adeshola was the third child of Papa Tokpe.

they hard Four children together 2 boys and 2 girls , with Adeshola being the the third child and also very beautiful. They lost the two boys in a car crush , leaving them with Adeshola and Adetayo

Those days when the king owned every land in the kingdom. Papa Tokpe, asked the king for a land to farm for two years and he took that as an advantage and took something more greater.

At the age of 13 Adeshola was given to the King as a collateral for a land ,Papa Tokpe was always pleading with the king

for to use to cultivate yam and cassava. He was very surprised when the King approved his request about the land faster than he espected ,so he went to the palace to thank the king, with the promise that he would give have of the harvest to him and his family.

On arrival to the palace, he was very surprised when the king rejected his offer of giving him half of his produce and he was very shocked when the king asked that

Adeshola should rather came and serve him in the palace , in replacement of half of the produce from the king's land which was well known tradition, through out the kingdom .Papa Tokpe ,who did not think much into what the king said ,offered his daughter as collateral in place of the land.

He was very happy that, he wouldn't have to share his farm produce with the king ,because it was not every season that ,they get good harvest and it is mandatory that the King of the land receive his share out of every farm produce harvested on any land in any part of the kingdom.

He took two years to farm and God being so good he hard a great harvest. so he returned to the king for his ,daughter because she was his favorite among the remaining two.

"your majesty" , Papa Tokpe bowed to the king who, was drinking palm wine with his brother (the head of elder's in council)

"Tokpe ,you have walked well" said the king's brother

"Thank you" , he answered

"But what brings you here this hot

afternoon" asked the king's brother

"Am here to see the king, regarding my daughter,because I have finished cultivating on the land and am ready to return the land"

"you miss her don't you" asked the king

"very much Igwe" ( my king) he answered with the most sincere smile

"she is a sweet girl . A beauty like her mother and I have became very fond of her

am not ready to let her go

infact , I want you to give her younger sister to my brother here,he said tapping his brother on his thigh . as his fourth wife and I would give you 2 lands of

your choice as bride price for the

two of them. he said with all seriousness.

"But my King she's too young for marriage"papa Topke said with sadness lingering in his voice

"you should be thankfully, that am not taking your wife from you but instead I choose your daughter.

one more word from you and I would change my mind about the land."the king said with his chest shaking violently as a sign of his anger

"am sorry , my king, I would go and bring her now , am very sorry"Papa Tokpe said and walked away not wanting to loose his beautiful wife to the king because he nearly lost her during the death of their two sons

" I don't know what it is with that family their women are always beautiful and sweet ,And am not going to wait for Adeshola to grow up and reject me like her mother.

I would take her now, so that we can grow old together.the king said as he watch Papa Tokpe walking out of the metal gate door of the palace

"the fact that ,that woman choose this man over me is still a fresh wound in my heart that would never heal" .he said as he took his sit next to his brother loosing appetite for the palm wine

"I heard you forced yourself on her , just so she could accept to marry you, but she still choose him and said nothing happened " . his brother said with the palmwine glass to his lips.

Are you laughing at me now ? asked the king

"you and this your hot temper,

came down ,before you kill your only brother because of a woman

ooooo". he said as he finished the palm wine in his glass

Ike ,you have over stayed your welcome,please leave.said the king

shaking with anger

"I would leave, but please,when they bring the girl, bring her to me oooo

Don't go and add her to her sister

and be enjoying them alone ooo

small." he said as he dropped his cup and made his way to the gate

leaving his brother to morn his lost love.
