ASHER
I rolled out of bed after waking up from sleep. The woman on my side, Alyssa, my childhood friend and first love, was finally back, and I couldn't contain my feelings enough, and we had a good time together. I had already promised to marry her immediately Sarah signed the divorce documents. I did not want anything to ruin our new relationship as I'd chased after her for years without getting a positive response until now. And my marriage with Sarah is about to ruin it all.
As I headed towards the bathroom to wash up, I heard Alyssa call out my name in the most pleasing manner. The sound of her voice sent chills down my spine and I looked back, responding to her.
“Yes, love” I said calmly, walking back to meet her. “You're awake” I said, leaning down and placing a peck on her cheek.
“Yes, I am. And I had a good time with you.. Thank you, Asher” Alyssa said to me, placing her hand on my cheek while she smiled.
My heart didn't beat for her as usual, it normally does, especially when we were together four years ago on the day of my wedding to Sarah. Alyssa and I had spent the wedding night together and that was when she announced that she could not continue with me since she'd seen her mate.
I was filled with so much pain and disappointment that night, I pleaded for her to take me back, promising to divorce Sarah and make her my Luna, but she refused and left me. ‘She's finally returned.’ I thought to myself as I let out a brief smile.
“I'm glad you did, I'll wash up and get back to you'' I said to her and headed back to the bathroom.
I walked out after about thirty minutes and I got changed into a simple t-shirt and black pants. Alyssa had gone back into a deep sleep and I just left the bedroom in order to check the master's bedroom and confirm if Sarah had already signed the divorce documents and left as I asked her to.
‘Sarah mustn't disobey me’ I thought as I placed my hand on the knob and pressed it open. Walking inside to see an empty room, I'm certain that she'd signed it and left. I looked around, my eyes settling at the drawer where the divorce documents were, and I moved directly towards the drawer to pick it up.
Seeing her bold signature on it, my lips curved into a smile. “Finally, I can now be with Alyssa, my love”, I said, taking the documents with me to show her that I was finally a free man, and she could become my Luna.
I took gracious steps outside the room, heading towards the guest bedroom to inform her. Her voice resonated in the bedroom, and it seemed like she was having an argument with someone. I paused, standing behind the door in order to listen, as a part of their conversation piqued my interest.
“I will be back at dusk. I told you not to talk to me anymore, didn't I? I have a mission to get him into trusting me again so we can take over his pack after I've become his Luna.” Alyssa said over the phone and my heart skipped a beat, my face dropped into a long angry frown and my fist clenched tightly unto the documents in my hand.
I leaned closer to listen, hearing all of her plans to course my pack for herself with the help of her true mate. What Sarah said about Alyssa was true, she was nothing but a liar and cheated. Clearly, she'd never loved me from the very beginning.
I stared at the documents in my hand , “What have I done?” my question came back to me rhetorically, I pushed the door open, staring at her in rage. “Asher, when did you come?” Alyssa asked me calmly, dropping her mobile phone and moving seductively towards me, swaying her hips aside as a bright smile appeared on her lips.
She tried to wrap her arms around my shoulder, but I pushed her arms off. “Stay away from me, you chest!” I yelled at her, pushing her off me.
“How dare you, Alyssa? How dare you try to trick me?” I grabbed her neck in rage and I slammed her hard against the wall.
Alyssa coughed and struggled in my grip, begging me to let go of her. “Please…” she cried out. “I didn't mean to… he forced me.”
“Alyssa! How dare you continue to lie to my face!” I yelled out and pushed her to the ground.
Turning my face away, I pointed at the door. “Get out of here, Alyssa. Never to return here again. I swear, I'll kill you if I see you here again!” I declared.
She grabbed the tail of my t-shirt, pulling it as she begged me, but I'd already made my decision. “Get out of here!” I yelled out harshly. She let go, moving to grab her dress and purse as she ran out of the bedroom in fear.
The more I thought about her actions, I didn't feel much hurt by it. It was as if I'd expected her to do such a thing. My thoughts weren't straight as I returned to the master's bedroom to find my mobile phone. I needed to call Sarah and know where she went.
She deserves an apology from me for treating her coldly for so many years because of Alyssa. I called her number after getting my phone, but it was unavailable. This was unbelievable! She was just here hours ago! Why isn't her number connecting? Did she block me?
I asked myself so many possible questions. Obviously, she did block me from reaching her. I wouldn't blame Sarah for doing this. I've ridiculed and divorced her without giving her a chance with me. What should I do? I asked myself, putting the phone down.
I noticed that there was a folded document on the ground beside the drawer. It must've fallen there. I leaned down, picking it up to see. This didn't look like a divorce document, it was smaller, and the writings were more tinier.
I rolled it open and I read it. “Medical test reports” I said out, letting my eyes do the test of the reading.
“Pregnancy, positive?”
“Sarah is pregnant?” I asked myself, stunned. I picked up my mobile phone again and sent a text message to all of my werewolf guards.
‘Find Luna Sarah at all cost!’
