I drew closer to her though the loud beating her heart made was becoming distracting. “So you're alone on a night like this. It's fine, you know. Just thought you would have company.”
“Oh, my boyfriend couldn't make it,” she said, barely looking at me. “Luke, my boyfriend, is quite the guy, you know. He'll make it up to me.”
