I knew Callum was speaking with Bella. No, he didn't tell me anything but I knew. I knew how worried he was about me. Even Cole was very worried too— and that spoke volumes because the guy was always as cool as a cucumber.
Now what I didn't know was whether speaking to Bella could make her see me as anything other than a monster. I mean, she had seen me that afternoon. There was no way that was going to leave her head. At least, that was what I thought.
“Are you okay?” Cole asked, his leg knee-deep in the pool. “You look weirder than usual. What's up?”
“Bella just called. I can't believe this.”
Cole's eyes widened as a bright smile dawned on his face. “You have to be kidding me. Really? Did she want to talk?”
I nodded.
