Chapter 3

1174 Words
Supernatural Shock Lennox I am trying my best to keep my wolf under control. The last thing I want is to scare my mate. I place my hands in my jacket pockets to keep myself from reaching for her. I want her so badly, but I suspect she is struggling with what is happening. At least she was willing to come with me, that is a start, it gives me the chance to win her over. I can’t lose my mate, so I’ll be patient. “Everlee?” I speak softly so I don’t startle her. She brings her icy blue eyes to meet mine. She blushes just from making eye contact. “What are you? If you don’t mind my asking. I’ve never encountered a scent as unique as yours. I know you aren’t a wolf, but you don’t smell human either.” Everlee’s eyes grow wide for a second before she answers. “I’m Fae.” She says, almost whispering. Everlee I’m suddenly very nervous. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten in a car with a stranger just because he smelled like heaven and made my nether regions light up like a Christmas tree in one of those human movies. Lennox is staring at me, mouth agape. He appears to be in shock. “Fae?” He finally manages to get out. “But Fae don’t exist. They went extinct hundreds of years ago, in the Great War. They were wiped out by the witches.” He is reeling. He can’t stop his word vomit at this point. He takes a deep breath and tries to calm down. I sit, watching Lennox talk, mostly to himself, or at least I think that’s what is happening. I am so confused. He seems nice and no doubt he is gorgeous. I had guessed he was also a magical creature, but I am unsure of what exactly he is. He seems to be in need of a moment to calm down, so I stay quiet and patiently wait. Life in the Fae territory had afforded me safety, but also caused me to be extremely naive. The human world has taught me a lot, but when it comes to the world of the supernatural, I’m clueless. As far as I was concerned before 20 minutes ago, Fae and humans were it. Every other supernatural was just myth. Although I have a feeling, that won’t be the case for much longer. Lennox My wolf, Drake, is going crazy. Being this close to my mate and not touching her, is driving him crazy. I can’t believe she is a fairy! Goddess what blessing have you given me? A fairy for a Luna? “Lennox?” The sound of her saying my name sends chills through my body like I have never experienced before. “Yes, love?” She blushes at that. “What are you?” I smile cooly. “I am a werewolf. Specifically, Lennox King, Alpha of the Black River Pack. And you my love, shall be my Luna.” My questions, and there are plenty, about her heredity, seem unimportant when I look at her, she feels safe, I feel a happiness I never knew was possible, I feel more than I have ever felt in my life, just from being near her. My body is longing to reach for her, to hold her hand as I had at the bank. I desperately want my hands on her skin… every inch of her skin. But that will have to wait, at least until she knows exactly what all this means. “What were you saying about Fairies not exsisting? What is the Great War?” I’m a bit shocked by her question. How did she not know all of this? Where has she been her whole life? Was she raised by humans? Just then the car slows to a stop and the driver exits. “All in good time, Love.” I step out and extend my hand to help her from the car. She gladly accepts, I’m excited to again feel the sparks roll onto my skin from her fingertips. She wraps her arms around my forearm and I lead her to the steps of the pack house. She manages to tear her gaze from me and look in front of her. “This is your house?!” She exclaims. “It’s a mansion!” I laugh a bit at her reaction. “This is the pack house. I do live here most of the time, as do my beta and gamma, and a few other pack members. I also have a home deep in the woods. I go there when I need to clear my head, let my wolf run and be alone. But it’s a lot easier to handle pack business from here.” She nods, and I lead her up the steps, and through the massive cedar double doors and into the front hall. Everlee looks around with her mouth open, this place is beautiful! “I’ll gladly give you the grand tour, but let’s have dinner first. What would you like to eat? Our chef here is amazing, she can make whatever you’d like.” I gently pull her toward the dining room, a large table runs down the center of the room, it can seat close to 20 people, but currently only 2 places are set for dinner. I pull out the chair to the right of the large throne-like chair at the head of the table. She sits down and I join her, sitting at the head of the table, but never releasing her hand. “Do you feel it too?” I ask, gesturing to our intertwined hands. I gently rub my thumb across the back of her hand and tiny sparks run across my finger. “Yes. It’s amazing.” This makes my wolf leap. Drake Mate! She wants us! Let’s take her! Lennox Calm down Drake! She needs time! She doesn’t even know what’s happening. You’re going to have to have some patience. The Moon Goddess has blessed us with a fairy for a mate, we can be patient and wait for her acceptance. Drake recedes with a growl. Everlee “So what would you like to eat?” He asks me. “Grilled chicken and potatoes?” It’s my go to meal. Simple and delicious. I watch as he c***s his head to the side and gets a far away look in his eyes, it lasts only a minute and his eyes return to me. His gaze seems to see straight to my soul, and then it clicks. The pull I have always felt isn’t just gone! It’s gone because the pull was him! The Goddess Lyra must have been leading me to him. Lennox King is the answer to every question I have ever had in my life, and I’m glad to have finally found him. The future I left home for is right in front of me, and it couldn’t be more beautiful.
