Her husband looked at her in surprise. 'Don’t you know that all cats need to be out during the night, and then sleep most of the day? They’re nocturnal creatures!'
'That’s ridiculous! My mother had a cat, which used to play with me as often as I wanted during the daytime. I don’t remember it ever being asleep.'
'Maybe, but I bet it slept whenever you weren’t around, and wanted to go out at night to catch mice. That’s what all cats do.'
