Violet almost dropped to her knees when she heard the doctor say that her dad was out of danger. A breath she didn’t even realise she was holding leaves her chest and she silently thanked every god she knew, for protecting him. Tears blurred her vision as she threw her arms around Amelia, who was also shedding quiet tears of relief and happiness.
The doctor let them have a moment before continuing.
“But he still needs to be in proper care for a month or two.”
Amelia nodded gratefully, thanking the doctor and seeing him off. Ethan gave her a small nod with his sealed lips too as if congratulating her for the good news. Amelia’s gaze shifted between Ethan and Violet. She sensed the tension lingering heavily in the air and stepped aside, hoping to give them a chance to sort things out.
