Runaway Almost Luna

Confusion leads to chaos

Chris POV

"Dammit!" I roar, as the warehouse smells of young females, but nothing. No finger prints, no clothing. Just the smell. I walk back to door that we caved in two hours earlier. Luca was standing at our pickup, on his phone. "Yes Don, we looked all over for trap doors, the smell is heavy, but theres nothing here. I know, I know, we are doing everyth..Hello? Great." Luca hangs up his phone and throws it on the seat. "Alpha Don is going to have a heart attack or stroke if he keeps panic calling me, hell Im going to have one." he said, as he pulled his hand down his face. "Dude, we need to go home, its been a week and a half since we were in our pack, we missed the ball." I said, Luca whipped his body around to face me, his red eyes flash "MY MATE WAS HERE" "Whoa buddy, I didn't mean to not look for her" I told Gautic, I do NOT need my Alpha kicking my ass right now. Lucas eyes go back to blue "Sorry man, we smelled her when we got near the warehouse door, and Gautic took over, hence the door damage. We literally just missed them, you know they know we are onto them. The cleaners just forgot to cover the scent." Luca said to me. Frustration and tiredness all over his body. Great, I thought, so now not only are we looking for kidnap victims, but our Luna and our mate. "We should have gone to the ball" growled Cyrus in my head. "Look who is awake, hey grouchy." I told him. Cyrus, was ready to morph when we arrived earlier but when we saw that the warehouse was empty, he curled up and slept. Does anyone know how irritating it is to searches with snoring in your head.

"Brother, lets get some food for everyone and head home. Call your dad, regroup." I told luca "We cant find her if we are exhausted. We also should research who owns the warehouse that we just destroyed the door on, see if its linked up to the others that we have searched. Somethings got to be linked." Sure, he mind linked me. 'Everyone, lets load up, we got a long drive home.' I linked to our warriors as Luca called over our radios to the warriors from Quarter moon and Blue mountain. Within the hour we were on the road, all heading to our respective homes

After two days travel, we were finally at our pack gates. Bernie met us at the guard shack "Alpha, Beta, Alpha Sam and Luna are at the packhouse with food prepared for you. " "Thanks, Bern, we will have a meeting tomorrow morning at the training field with all the warriors, let it be known that everyone but first years are expected to be there, unless they are on security duty." Luca told himl "Yes Alpha, see you in the morning, glad you are back safe." We drove through the gates and down the long two mile drive to the Pack house.

Alpha Sam and Luna Sara were waiting on the steps as we pulled up. Luna Sara came down the steps and hugged Luca as he closed the door "Mom she was there, we just missed them." "You will find her, lets get you some food" Luna sara replied. Alpha Sam looked concerned at his son "We should eat in the office, shower first, you two smell like your in puberty again" I couldn't agree more, no hotels, and all the dirty warehouses. I couldn't stand myself, then put two of us in a truck for almost two weeks at that.

After a quick shower and fresh clothes, I was starving, I headed to Lucas office. Luna sara had table set up between our two desks and steak, potatoes, pasta and large mugs of beer were waiting on it. We all sat down and dug into the feast.

"Alright, we know you smelled her at the last warehouse, I had one of you computer gurus on the task of looking at owners of the properties while you were gone. He said that the warehouse were not owned by the same people, but two of them were by the same company. They were all rentals. Hes now looking at the companies, doing a compare analysis on them, the rentals, searching for patterns of rental dates and kidnappings." Alpha Sam said as we were still digging into our food. "Good" replied Luca I went for a walk before going back into the packhouse for the night. Couples were out, holding hands or grabbing their pups up for bedtimes. "We will be doing that soon" Cyrus said, tail wagging. "Hopefully bud, I want that too." I replied to my wolf, I want my fated mate so bad. I walked further down the road to the path that led to the lake. My favorite spot is down there, I cant wait to take my mate here on full moon. There is a bench to sit on that the moon glows down on. Makes me feel close to the goddess. I approach the lake and the moonshine is glorious. "Goddess, please protect my mate wherever she is, and help us find these kidnapped women soon" I said out loud. It felt like the moon shined brighter as I spoke and came down closer to the lake. "It will be soon" said Cyrus. "Can we go for a run?" "Sure bud, you deserve it". I stripped and piled my clothes on the bench, and in the full view of moon, Cyrus shifted into his form. He walked down to the lake and took a drink, then peered at himself in the lake mirror. "Do you think she will like us?" "Getting vain?" "No, its just been a long time coming." "Silly wolf, go run." Cyrus lifted his head black head and howled at the moon in thanks. Took off like his tail was on fire. I drifted off into the back of his mind, letting him be to run and chase prey. I haven't been able to let him out like we like to do. The moon was lowering as the sunrise was starting to appear when Cyrus was finished. We went back to the bench, Cyrus shifted back. I grabbed my clothes, "Dude, did you have to get so muddy? We only have a couple hours before that meeting and training" I chided my grouchy wolf, He yipped and yawn, then curled up and started snoring as I was walking back to the packhouse. I had just gotten to the front of the packhouse when some of the morning cooks showed up. The audible gasps and hearing whispers of "Really Chris, we will have to mop before we make danishes" was heard. I laughed "Cyrus had fun, good night ladies." I ran the rest of the way to my room for a shower, damn my mutt anyway.

BEEP BEEP BEEP.. "Really! Get up Chris, your running late, the meeting started!!" Luca Yelled in my mind, "Dammit I'm sorry brother, blame the mutt. We went running last night." I linked back. My alarm is blaring, I shake my head, jump in the shower and grab my shorts, run out the door to get to the training grounds.

At the training grounds Luca, his father, two older men and Bernie are gathered on a podium and our warriors and what looks like two more packs of warriors are there. "Cyrus, really you couldn't have woken me up" "My human, we were in your form not mine" Damn mutt

anyhow.

"Welcome Beta Chris, this is Alpha Dom of the Blue Mountain pack and this is Alpha Clint and his beta, josh from the Red moon." Alpha Sam looked at me with a smirk. I shake all three mens hands. "Sorry Im late Alphas" I went and stood by Luca. Luca glared at me "Took you long enough' through our mind link. "Dude, he ran until like 3 am, I had my alarm.." "Excuses are like assholes" Luca linked back cutting me off. Hes not wrong, but damn.

"Warriors, we have found a link between the warehouses and a pack that is close to our boarder. We might have even found one of the missing girls. You need to know that going forward, we will be traveling fast. We will split into three groups, Alpha Doms oldest is waiting outside one the new spots awaiting our group. Alpha Clint will take some trackers to do scouting. Alpha Sam will be in charge of Dark howlers, while we go rescue our future Luna, and the kidnapped females. Are you ready?!" Luca boomed out, the whole training grounds filled with howls and shouts from the warriors.

Luca turned and looked at us on the podium, "Berie, run training, but separate the trackers and the warriors who are going, so they can go prepare and we will leave within two hours. Gentlemen lets go to my office." "Son, it might be best if we go to the dinning hall, your office might be a tad tight, and Im sure Alpha Dom and Alpha Clint could use some coffee. Your beta could probably use some breakfast as well." Sam is a life saver, I thought. Luca grunted at me, and replied "Excellent idea dad."

We proceeded back to the pack house, the kitchen had put fresh coffee pots on the Alphas table and there was a cart filled with food. I grabbed some food and a cup of hot coffee. Took my seat next to Luca.
