Raymond’s eyes softened for a moment, the rage flickering like a candle in the wind. “I don’t want to lose you in all of this. But it’s hard to see a way forward when I feel like I’m losing control.”
“Then let me help you regain it,” I urged. “We’ll figure it out together. Just trust me, okay?”
He stared at me for what felt like an eternity, searching for something in my eyes. Finally, he took a deep breath and nodded, albeit reluctantly. “Alright. Let’s find the truth together. But if you’re hiding anything from me… Caitlyn, I won’t hold back.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” I promised, relief flooding through me as I reached out and squeezed his hand. “Together, we’ll get through this.”
