Rise and Shine

299 Words
"Rise and shine Sammy, we got work to do." Dean shook his little brother awake. Sam groaned and put his pillow over his head. "We've always got work to do." He mumbled turning away from Dean. "That's why you should get your lazy ass out of bed, little brother." Dean finished tying his boots and stood up. "C'mon, we leave in ten." Dean heard Sam mutter something under his breath as he got out of bed. Dean rolled his eyes and went to his duffle bag to finish packing up his sawed off shotgun and other various weapons. Sammy didn't understand the thrill of the hunt like Dean did. Dean needed it to survive, Sam just wanted revenge. If Dean wasn't hunting down bad sons of bitches he'd have nothing to live for. Hunting was the only time he didn't feel worthless; hunting was the only time he could numb the pain of what happened three months ago. Sam on the other hand, had gotten all his feelings out about the death of their dad, John. Sam was all about the chick flick moments, while Dean was a pent up ball of aggression. The only time Dean let anything out was while he was hunting, and then he was just plain scary. Sam's heart wasn't in hunting anymore. Truthfully it never really was. All Sam cared about now was finding the yellow-eyed demon who had killed his mother, father, and girlfriend. Dean was doing his best to put on a strong front for his brother. It was his job to take care of Sammy, he was his responsibility. He couldn't let anything happen to him. Dean was finding it harder and harder to stay strong though. Truth is, Dean rather just give up.
