Bobby was now filling in for Rollie on the weekends. I called at about 6:30pm. I asked him if there was any beer in the fridge. When he replied there was, I said, “We would be using the backroom about eight o’clock.” The meeting was short and sweet. The guys all agreed excitedly, almost as if it were an adventure. Still, once I explained the circumstances, they grew somber and questioned me about everything. I told them about the money and how we would divide it up. How we would do the collections and where to turn them in. I emphasized one final thing very strongly: do not tell anyone what we are doing, especially the wives. We shook hands, finished our beers and cigarettes, went into the front, and shot some 8 ball.
