Sondra looked up when I walked in the front door and stopped at the desk, “Is he still here?” I asked. “Yes,” she answered, “Sal and Frank just left.” “What?” I intoned. “You’re undressing me again.” “That’s ‘cause I like what I see.” “Think you can wait till tonight?” “I guess I’ll have to,” I answered, walking up and knocking on the door. Frank was already on his feet when I walked in. “Jesse,” he said, “sit down. What can I do for you?” “How are you, Frank?” “I’m fine, just getting older. How are things on the street? “The streets are good, a couple of incidents, nothing we couldn’t handle.” “That’s what I wanted to talk about. Do you think you could handle a couple more pickups?” “Sure, Frank, no problem. How many more?” “There’s four more, but they’re on the west side.”
