I woke up with the feeling that somebody was watching me. Rolling over, it was Sondra looking down at me with a smile. “Good morning, sleepyhead. I thought I’d let you sleep in today.”
“Thanks,” I said, sitting up against the headboard. “What time is it?”
“10:30,” she replied. “I tried not to make any noise.”
“How long have you been up?”
“Since about eight o’clock, I’ve been waiting so I could take my shower.”
“You look pretty fresh to me.”
“Yeah, I’ll bet. As you can see, this is what I wear around the house.”
“I like the Bears jersey,” I said.
“There’s coffee and some sweet rolls downstairs. I’m gonna jump in the shower, okay?”
