Bone Gnawers were usually found in the undercity, and they were considered the best assassins money could buy. At least, if you didn't need subtlety. They were a violent people and insisted on at least tasting the flesh of their targets, with a preference for eating them whole. The question is why were they after Michael? But then again, they knew his name, so maybe Michael had not been their intended target. Just bait for the bear trap. Although, they were stupid enough to trap themselves in with the bear.
