*6 weeks later*
My fist connects with the punching bag and my shoulder does not actually hurt this time. I finally feel as though my body is adjusting to the physical workout and my muscles are starting to build. The first two weeks were brutal and I cried more times than I care to admit. It is still gruelling effort but I can feel little changes as time goes on. Josiah and Izzy are helping me train and offering any spare time they can to the cause. They are fully on board with the plan and want to help me get stronger. Izzy can still kick my ass in sparing but I am beginning to hold my own abit more. Yesterday I managed a full sixty seconds of blocking before she got a hit in.
I have not heard a single word from Drakos and it has pissed me off to no end. I am simmering in my anger toward him at the moment. I can just imagine punching him in the face when I see him again.
I have not heard a single word from Surie either since that first night. Some books talk about wolves needing rest once they’ve emerged but it’s usually only a couple of days. Surie has not spoken to me and we have still not shifted yet.
A twinge of pain starts again in my mind and I quickly glance around. Josiah is changing the music so I quickly scurry toward the bathroom. I just lock the door as the pain intensifies and I grab my head. My teeth grit together and eyes close as I try to breath through the pain. I can feel my whole body tense as I swallow down my screams of pain. I cannot let Josiah or Izzy see this. The pain in my head has been rapidly increasing and showing up more and more often. It feels like someone is liquifying my brain.
As quick as the pain started it stopped again. I head back into the gym and Josiah’s attention is on me.
“Everything alright?” He asked with concern. I know he is getting suspicious about my frequent bathroom breaks.
“All good,” I roll my shoulders to ease the tension.
“We need to head outside,” Josiah walks to the door and holds it open for me. “I received a call.”
I grab my water bottle and squirt some into my mouth as I meet him at the door.
We chatter back and forth as we make our way through the pack house and outside. As the front door opens his scent hits me and my attention snaps to the car parked outside. Drakos is just stepping out of the car and his gaze locks on mine. A huge grin spreads on his face and I feel my own doing the same. My feet move before my mind and I sprint toward him. Luckily he catches me with ease as I launch my body at him. We collide and he immediately pulls my lips down to his. He devours every inch of my mouth and his hand roam over my body like a caress.
A throat clears and we abruptly stop kissing and both turn our heads to see Josiah. He looks entirely uncomfortable with the show.
I look back at Drakos and my smile softens.
“I did not know you were going coming back yet,” I say.
He strokes a hand down my face, “I wanted to surprise you.” He places a light kiss to my lips and then lowers me back to my feet. “I missed you so much. You are even more beautiful than my mind can picture when being so far away from you.” He rests his forehead against mine.
“It would be really awkward for me to clear my throat a second time,” Josiah says and a small laugh escapes me.
I step to Drakos’ side and he keeps his arm tucked around me.

Drakos leads us to the dining room and we all sit down for lunch together. He practically fuses my chair to his and keeps his arm wrapped around me. It cannot be comfortable to eat like that but I am not complaining. It is so nice to have him back. All my quarrels about him rejecting me are long gone from my mind.
He missed me. That’s all that matters.
“So I need demonstrations arranged for tomorrow. Any students deemed to be ready will inscript immediately. We have already set up a on site school for them to finish studying part time.” Drakos explains as he draws circles on my arm with his fingers. “Izzy and Cleo, I want you both to inscript too. You can finish school part time whilst training.”
Izzy beams at her brother, “really? This is so exciting.” She rubs her hands together in glee.
Drakos looks to me and I flash him a small smile and look away. I feel his hesitation to continue.
“Our parents are due back today. They are going to be taking over here.” Drakos says and my eyes snap to Josiah. He seems surprised too. “Josiah, you will be coming with us as well. I need you to help with training.”
I finished eating and take a drink of my water.
Drakos sits forward and unwinds his arm from around me. “Questions can wait until later.” He stands from the chair and I look at him confused as he holds his hand out towards me. I take it and stand up too. “Right now, I need some time alone with my mate.”
Before I have chance to respond, he bends down and lifts me over his shoulder. I squeal in surprise and hear Izzy’s laughter as Drakos carries me out the room.
