The Path Leads To You

Chap 1

"Wake up, Rise in Shine!" I pulled the blanket from her and tried to wake this sleepy head.

"Oh no, Rae! I don't want to wake up!"

"Tsk. Tsk. I taught you'll be early today."

"No, just give me five minutes." I just laughed at her reaction when she covered her head with the blanket after I smacked her butt.

Hello by the way this is Hannah Rae Simon. And the person I'm talking to is my very industrious cousin Laureen Guevara. Note the sarcasm. It's nearly 6 in the morning and she's still sleeping. I took a bath already and am now ready to have my breakfast for the day which is two glasses of water because I just found out well already run out of stocks that even the rats would mock us for how poor we are.

Sigh! Life is really hard.

"Why are you only having water? Shouldn't we have our coffee?" Laureen, now she had just woken up. Good, because I'm beginning to get irritated. She's always been like this since the day I started living with her. She's a good companion by the way, just that I don't like it when she's being lazy.

"No not today. I've been having coffee for how many days and I can feel the acid. " I said making her laugh. Oh yeah, we don't have food but we have full stock of coffee.

"Haha no way, then I'll just have mine, I don't care about that, coffee is my medicine." She started making her brewed coffee in our new brewer. Well, finally we have a brewer we always dreamed of having one years ago when I was still in college. We love coffee so much that the house smells like coffee already.

"By the way how are you with Jess? Brell told me you just fought yesterday, what's the catch? You're already this old and you keep on fighting." I watch how her face changed when I asked about Jess. It's funny how her nose flared up and how she pout while saying 'hmmm!'. Jess is her longtime boyfriend he's a Police officer. They've been together since I was still in college which is about 6 years ago, and Jess is still in college too during those times, while Laureen is working already. They've been like this and they are quite cute together though.

"Hmmph! That man. He's making me angry I told him to not call me because I would be busy yet he still called me. I wouldn't have been angry if he wasn't drunk. But- I'm stressed come on!" She keeps making faces and even doing some funny actions that made me laugh. "Wanna strangle him? Grrr!!"

"Haha, then he should be calling you later. I'm sure he knows what he did wrong now, this happened before too." I laughed as I remembered those times she was ranting about Jess for like a week.

She just shrugged her shoulders. It's funny how she still acts childish when she's already 29 years old. They are even planning to get married in 2 months from now. Good for her as it is time she settles down too, I just hope Jess can tolerate her laziness. Bwahahaha.

"Maybe I should start taking a bath." She said after drinking her coffee in gulps, look at this woman.

"That's a good idea go on because I'm fuckin' done." Said while waving my hand and sipping my water. Oh! Water is essential.

"Let's go eat outside. Because I'll be travelling today. And mind you, you'll be alone for the whole week again good luck." She winked before wiggling her butt at me and ran to the bathroom.

"Hahaha, not funny because I don't mind you've been travelling for how many weeks and I'm used to it." I retorted.

After eating outside. We parted ways, I started rushing through the crosswalk as I am going to be late for my job. I'm working as a language tutor in one of the biggest tutoring schools in the city.

Upon reaching the building where our school is I saw one of my colleagues tidying her things as she'll be going to her class too.

"Morning Miss Hannah. You're nearly late today." She commented as she saw me rushing to my desk.

"Morning too, Miss Shein. Well, it's traffic outside. Also, I just sent my cousin to the bus station, she's going to Juanico Province (made up name) today, and gosh it took me an hour to get a taxi." I explained.

"Wow, she sure travels a lot." She said and I kinda saw her roll her eyes. Surely she thinks I'm just looking for a reason with her. Never mind.

"Yeah, she does. I'm going first. My class starts early today so see you later." Just wave my hand and walked out heading to my class.

I just started working here two months ago, and as always, there is that toxic colleague in that working area. Well, I'm used to it, that is part of life.

After an hour of tutoring class, I walked to the kitchen where we store our coffee and drinks with a smile on my face.

"Oh, seems like Miss Hannah had a great time she sure is smiling eh." Cobe, one of my colleagues. He teaches foreign adults. Our school is called Mcaring Tutoring School. It's a bigger-than-usual tutoring school. Because we teach different age groups and Races. Our students are mixed races, they came from different countries and there are 20 of us here.

I teach children only since I just started. While Miss Shein handles purely one-race students well most of them are adults there are only 5 children so she doesn't have to worry much about how to handle them.

"Oh well, the kids are just so adorable, I just hope to see some improvements," I said.

"Oh, good for you. How about me, I just don't know how to teach that other student of mine. They just can't understand what to do. How about exchanging with me." I just laughed upon hearing that.

"Oh come on June I know you can do it you've been doing this for almost a year. Now come sit with me and have some coffee to ease your stress." I took her arms and pull her to the seat beside me.

June handles the bigger class than me. She is the most bubbly person here at our work. She sure does complain a lot but she is very cheerful and always makes our mood happy. She's also my very close friend here.

"Oh, yeah! You better have snacks. Before we continue the battle again." Cobe.

While we eat, other teachers also came and had their snacks.
