CHAPTER 17The flight afforded Miles the opportunity to catch up on his sleep for a couple of hours. It was unusual for him to fall asleep on a plane, but the two previous nights of tossing and turning had worn him out. The jolt of the aircraft’s wheels touching down woke him instantly. His senses had returned to full function by the time the plane parked at the jetway. The walk to immigration from the plane seemed to last forever. Both the line for Mexican citizens and the one for foreign visitors were extremely long in the crowded hall. After about thirty minutes, Miles passed through the checkpoint and proceeded to baggage claim. He passed through the checkpoint without incident.
