CHAPTER 26When Ryan returned to the condo he decided to check in with Bobbie to, at the very least, express his continued interest in their relationship.
“Hi, Ryan. I’m glad you called. “Are you and Miles enjoying Mexico?” she asked, accepting Ryan’s explanation.
“Yes and no.”
“I don’t understand.”
Ryan explained, without being explicit, that Ken had been injured and Miles had left Mexico to be with him. He knew she would freak out that Ken had been shot, so he was intentionally vague about what exactly happened. He didn’t mention what he and Miles were actually busy doing in Puerto Vallarta until Bobbie surprisingly brought it up.
“Peter Gonzales mentioned Pancho Alvarez was doing a favor for Miles without elaborating on it.”
